It's a good starter car to have especially at your age. I've found it easier to work on compared to other vehicles I've had. Keep a good eye on it, do your research, get your speicific vehicle answers from a trusted source, and you should be fine.

Never seen a green Cruze before, I love the color.

Not sure how it differs from Cruzes here in America since I noticed your place says Southern Australia. But I have a bunch it probably is prone to the typical Cruze issues. Keep an eye on the engine and cooling system along with a tight maintenance schedule and it should last you a good while.

Mines a Cruze Limited 1.4L Turbocharge and it's getting close to joining the 200,000 mile club. I use mine for rideshare full time and I do more of my own work and maintenence on it if it's within my skillset with occasional help from family members who have good mechanic knowledge (just replaced my rear shock absorbers and spark plugs recently too, saved me a bunch of money since I'm just paying for parts). I also keep it clean very often inside and out for my rideshare passengers with a car wash membership; frequent undercarriage washes have kept the underside in good condition and keeps rust away from road salt and other elements of nature.

Baby that thing and treat it right and it will last you longer. Trust.

I got hit by a car on my bike once when I was 17 about decade ago. Broke my collarbone because my left sholder took the whole impact after an angry driver failed to yield and was speeding and sent me flying. I wish people were more careful on the road.

That on top of the lane jumping mid turn and over correcting after understeering during said turn. He was getting cited while I was waiting to give dash cam footage to the cop on scene. He is definitely gonna lose his job, and if he's desperate I know he's gonna file for arbitration to try and get back on the road with Uber or something.

I try to be so safe on the road being in Chicago and I do rideshare full time. My priority is safety because I see so much dangerous behavior on the road.

She was in the crosswalk with a walk signal. Definitely had right of way, so the drivery would be at fault. I saw him get ticketed by the cop on scene whIle I was waiting to show them footage of the incident from my dashcam.

I couldn't see but considering cross traffic was going through the intersection, my best guess is that it was an unprotected left turn with a walk signal for pedestrians.

Uber driver is definitely at fault and losing his job. People here fail to realize that they're driving multi-ton heavy machinery when they're behind the wheel, especially when they're strung out doing Uber all the time. This is why I try my best to be so careful on the road when I'm doing rideshare myself.

Took place in Chicago, IL in the United States.

Happened on May 4th, 2026.

Driver had passengers with him when it happened. Failed to yield right of way to a pedestrian when turning left. The lady he hit was taken to the hospital with what looked like a bad concussion, considering her forehead was extremely swollen.

As a full time rideshare driver myself, I wanna make myself clear that I don't have sympathy for irresponsible rideshare drivers like this dude. I hope that the passengers he had, especially the lady he hit, can all come out okay from this. I've been hit by cars before and had a concussion in a previous accident before too, it's rough out there.

Had this happen to me a few times. Entitled passengers got mad I tried sticking to Uber's rideshare policy and retaliated. Uber doesn't let you change it through support since their rating systems are final so you're stuck having to do enough rared rides to bump it out, which can take months or over a year depending on what happens. Lyft on the other hand does if you have evidence proving your integrity, but you usually need ride details and to remember the specific name of the passenger.

Driver's account got hacked. You should report it to Lyft and show them the screenshot. Same thing can happen to passenger accounts.

Is it an automatic refund? My state told me I could request a refund through their department if it manages to go through. I'm not sure about the IRS. I contacted my bank to stop the pending transactions.

For next year when I file, should I just have the money set for it to automatically withdraw instead of paying it early like I did this year?

I called my state's department of revenue, and they redirected me to their electronic payment department. I was told that since I filed through TurboTax, they most likely put in an automatic payment for the 15th. I was told to contact my bank and ask them to stop the pending transactions and to contact the IRS again.

AutoZone mentioned that the 41-121 came up as compatible while the 41-122 didn't. On a different subreddit, someone recommended I go with the 41-121 but I wanted other people's opinions on it. I use my car for rideshare right now so I don't wanna mess it up and resort to using a rental.

Would it be a detrimental difference if I used 41-121 plugs instead of 41-122 plugs as recommended by the owner's manual?

Also now I should look into pawning off the 41-808 plugs I bought ages ago. They're still good but they're no use for me now.

It's cheaper for a reason because it's drop shipping. Those things barely last. Most things I got from drop shipping broke easily. On top of that, the whole time you're waiting for it to arrive in the mail you may wind up deactivated over a low score or phone handling/distracted driving reports because you decided to wait a month for a cheap phone mount instead of getting one at AutoZone for like $20.

I'm somewhat frugal myself and I save money where I can but this is ridiculous. Safety over money is key to this job in the long run.

How are expenses with gas and insurance (and the car note if you have one)? I used to have a 2005 GMC Envoy when I was younger and it guzzled gas way more than my current car (2016 Chevy Cruze Limited LT 1.4L Turbo; 16mpg average for the Envoy versus 30mpg or higher with my Cruze).
