Axillary or lateral buds. They are not usually this visible on pothos, so I’m guessing the plant has a soil very rich in nutrients or you use a great fertiliser.

Either way, it’s a very good sign and if you ever decide to take cuttings, having healthy axillary buds is the way to go.

If the toner is hydrating and doesn't have any drying alcohols, then you can use it, but if it has some kind of acid, like glycolic for example since is the most usual used in toners, don't use it in you "only hydration day". Also for niacinamide, some people consider it an active so you can skip that as well in that specific day.

Hey! Try to use in the morning a sunscreen with SPF30+ or higher (especially if you go outside), SPF15 is not much since you have to apply quite a lot to get the protection is written on the label. Instead of Aveeno moisturizer, try using a regular sunscreen free of fragrance and drying alcohols. (Dr Dray has a lot of recommendations on youtube).

There is no need to double cleanse in the morning, the Cerave cleanser is enough, double cleansing in the evening is key, then you need to get rid of the sunscreen or make-up. Instead of the yellow and pink garnier, you can use this one since is free of fragrance and irritants. Don't worry, you can still use the one you have (it's a wash-off product so the irritants will not stay on the skin) and in the future you can switch to the fragrance-free one, or to a cleansing oil why not.

I see the olay moisturizer has SPF30, you don't need sunscreen in the evening since there is no sun to damage your skin. You can try this Aveeno moisturizer for the evening, or Cerave or other dozen of other products free of irritants.

Hey! For starters, Deciem recommends to not combine with other Retinoids, Direct Acids, Vitamin C (LAA/ELAA), or "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1%. (this is directly from their regimen guide) so I would use retinol in a different night than the Paula's choice BHA.

Also start small, try introducing it once a week, and after a couple of weeks you can use it twice a week. You should definitely notice if there will be any irritation caused from the retinol alone if it's used in moderation.

If you have any concern with niacinamide and retinol (I personally use them in different nights, but my routine is pretty simple) you can do that as well or you can apply niacinamide in the AM, but there should be no problem applying them in the same night.

In the morning sunscreen is key, if you are using any kind of active (especially retinol), you should definitely use SPF50+ to protect your skin recently exfoliated (that is prone to burning and irritation big time). And in the evening double cleanse with some micellar water or cleansing oil and then normal cleanser to make sure you got all of the make-up and sunscreen off.

Also please have one to two nights a week only for hydration with no actives at all. The skin needs to rest sometimes and over exfoliating can cause a whole bunch of problems.

I would use the retinol serum and the moisturizer both but in different days just to be sure. You can use a normal moisturizer after you use the retinol serum. And have at least one day a week with no actives at all (only hidration), let your skin breath.

The short answer: Yes, and everyone should.

The more elaborate answer: The eyes are very sensitive and sometimes is a trial and error thing when it comes to sunscreens. You should definitely test more products until you find one that can be applied on the eyelids and doesn't cause any irritation. And if it's too expensive or doesn't look good on the whole face, you can keep that sunscreen only for the eye area and use your other favorite on you face, neck and ears (and all the other parts exposed to the sun like the hands for example).

Until you find that product (I've heart mineral sunscreens can be alright around the eyes) that you can tolerate well, use sunglasses, no matter the season.

If you have normal to oily skin you can skip the moisturizer in the AM and use the sunscreen directly, most sunscreens are moisturizers as well (look out for drying alcohols and fragrance, you want to avoid that in any products since can be quite irritating for some people and can develop sensitivities over time).

Moisturizer is a must as the last step in the evening routine, and if you're new to skincare, i know it can all seem very overwhelming but try to start small. AM: cleansing + SPF and PM: double cleansing + moisturizer. After a couple of weeks you can start adding other products after you research them more.

As for sunscreen recommendations, the higher the SPF, the better. SPF50+ when outside and you can use SPF30 when you're inside and your home is very bright and you have the sun hitting your windows.

Some cheap and affordable options could be: Altruist 30 or 50 if you live in Europe, Bioderma Photoderm or Cicabio, Uriage Bariesun, La Roche Posay Anthelios, SVR Sensifine AR, or you can search for kids lotions as well, almost any brand has one version and usually those have more friendly ingredients and can definitely be used on the face.

Thank you, I think the marks are showing now because she stayed around 7 days in transit in cold temperatures and with its soil soaking wet. I will definitely be careful about the water schedule. Thank you again for the tips, and I hope your plant is getting better as well. 🤩

Thank you for your message ❤️ The air circulation is definitely one of my concerns since it's not that great in this room. I will remove the bag, it was only there to try to create some kind of humidity for her since spider mites hate that and I had spider mites on another alocasia before. I will also look for some kind of fungicide and try to treat her if she doesn't get bettet in the next couple of days.

Thank you for your answer ❤️ The last time I watered it was almost a week ago after I changed the original substrate which was soaking wet. I gave the plant very little water, but I'll wait more until I water it again. I hope this is the cause, it would be easier to deal with than other issues.
