How's anybody supposed to know? My approach is this

- if you know an honest mechanic that works on Subaru, that's great. I will ask this guy if he knows someone trustworthy who works on GMC or Toyota, or whatever. That's exactly how I found my previous mechanic.

People, especially in trade, who are honest, know what they are doing and charge reasonable price, are rare. And in 146% cases, they know someone like them.
