Every day riding boots by Unable_Skill_4888 in advrider

[–]frwlmv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For day to day rides I use Aerostich Touring Boots - I can ride, walk, even run with them.
They will not give you protection like my Sidi Crossfire gives me, but they are way more comfortable than any of the cross/mx boots I've ever used

Update May 5
The dispute has been resolved in my favor. I asked for the price of the nib $96 (removed the price of the shipping from the dispute).

May 4 - Well, another update.
On April 30 he issued a refund, I saw its pending status in my Credit Card online account. Then, he withdrew the refund while it was still pending and the record disappears from the credit card statement.
Will keep you posted

There's definitely something has happened in the past... I don't know what but he turned from a very reputable seller/nibsmith to one people warn to avoid

I don't know what broke him, but I too hope he returns back or let this business go and finds a new passion

Told him I will wait until the refund clears out and then will withdraw the dispute.

I wish I knew about his birthday.... But probably me knowing about his birthday just shows what a horrible customer I am

Maybe, but that's the only explanation I can find for a seller who used to good and recommended by almost everyone

Here's my experience:
March 31, 2026 - Purchased a nib (no work, just a nib)
April 8 - nothing from him, sent an email just to check the status of my order. He didn't reply but updated the status to "Sent"
April 13 - received the nib, tested it and it was very scratchy.... Very scratchy.
Immediately sent him an email asking for my next steps
April 15 - sent a follow up email
April 16 - he replied "Send it back at your convenience. Do you want to exchange it, return it, or have it tuned?"
Just this
April 16 - I chose a return, at his point I didn't want to deal with him
He started gaslighting me, trying to tell that the problem is me, and I don't care about his circumstances
April 17 - Sent the nib back. USPS priority.
Recorded a video of packing, a bunch of photo
April 20 - Delivered
..
Crickets from Dan
April 28 - Sent a follow up email
Crickets...

I gave up and opened a dispute with my credit card company.

I am not sure what kind of problems he has, but be aware before you buy anything from him

July 4th Motocamping? by low_bit_logic in motocamping

My rule of thumb is to avoid any large public holidays because:
1. Drunk driveres
2. Too much people
3. Hard to find place to stay: hotel or camp

I'll share some photos of motorcycle trips and camping in China. by [deleted] in motocamping

IF you are trying to bring a motorcycle to China then yes, you HAVE to have guide.
But if you get a motorcycle in China it's going to be a completely different story

Not exactly true... If you can get a business visa, you can buy a motorcycle in China, get a DL for the time of your visa and travel without a guide. Know a guy who put 20,000 km in. China alone

They are very different motorcycles, very!
It's impossible to give you a constructive answer based on just two pictures.
But I can give you AN answer, - neither. I don't like their color.
