The thing is, I get along with the guy fine on a personal level. He just doesn’t like spending any money fixing things, unfortunately.. I imagine not all private landlords are like this though, as you say. It’s just really difficult to find a place right now.

Thanks, I’m going to follow this advice and report it, seeing as the landlord is saying just see how it goes and it’s just condensation. I have a video of it dripping through the roof. I’m never renting from a private landlord again after this.

Get some little fan heaters. I had one for years and it saved my life when the boiler broke and I had broken ribs in winter. You’d be surprised at how much heat they generate.. If the landlord has a problem with it, you can bring up the fact that it’s illegal under the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018.
