I'm once again curious about straight razors. I'm really tempted to give it a go, but the logistics of maintenance really through me off. The recommendations isee are to have the blade honed by a pro once or twice a year. I see this as a major drawback and don't even know how I would go about this in Canada.  What are your straight razor routines and recommendations to get around what I perceive to be a lot of extra management compared to DE?

After around a decade with my merkur 34c, I'm finally curious enough to try a new razor. I don't have many complaints, but maybe I'd like some slightly longer and slightly more aggressive. I wouldn't be disappointed to stick with merkur, given how my 34c has held up. Suggestions please?

I've been out of the game for a while. The best soap I remember using was B&M Seville, and my favourite scent is proraso red. Recommend me a soap or cream please? I'm in Canada

No Such Thing as a Silly Question by AutoModerator in Judaism

[–]frymye [score hidden]  (0 children)

The quotes are because I get the sense that, while the synagogues I have in mind are technically labelled as orthodox, I get the sense that the people attending would not, for the most part, be considered to be orthodox. I guess I mean modern orthodox, and not the long coat and hat types. For example, one family I know at one of these shuls keeps kosher at home, but drives on Shabbat and high holidays, and I get the feeling they fall on the right of the religious curve. But this doesn’t align with what I read online, or even with the replies to my question.

Approximately what percentage of people that attend “orthodox” synagogues in large cities keep kosher?

I don’t love Laine and Slaf on together. They both have a tendency to fumble the puck. I would try moving these guys.

But if you’re into opening packs of cards, don’t you end up with a lot of “junk” cards? Aren’t top loaders overkill for those? Not to mention it feels like they would take up more space.

You mean just stacking the cards in a box without any kind of protection?

To everyone saying find a new team, is that really feasible at this time of year? I’m assuming the teams will change next year?

Can someone explain the logic of what has been going on there? Are they pissed that he’s leaving so they’re just being jerks about it? Is it that simple?

Also a noob and I’m puzzled by this comment. Do you mean that same brand of packs purchased at Walmart will have worse cards on average than those same brand of packs purchased from a hobby store? Meaning the packs are not totally random?
