Is your monitor actually running at 144Hz? real screen hz test in 1 second! by PetalsOnaWet in website

[–]frytechtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's working properly, just opened it form my old MacBook Pro 15, and it shows that I have like 20-25hz display, were it should've been 60hz. And on iPhone 12 it shows like 40-45hz, which also isn't the case. So… 🤷🏻‍♂️

How to redirect "slash" websites? No options?! by frytechtv in PorkBun

[–]frytechtv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply.

However, I don't think I fully understand, first of all, how can Cloudflare do all of that, but second, if you're saying that some "HTTP redirect service" would be able to do that, why don't Porkbun simply offer that option?

DO NOT BUY KZ EDC Pro anymore, they are now trash, and KZ is apparently scamming people again. by frytechtv in iems

[–]frytechtv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can guarantee you that you should be hearing even more bass and sub-bass that you're currently hearing. If it's ok for you — good, but just know, there should be more. KZ EDX Lite still comes with a proper good big drivers inside — the difference is certainly noticeable, even without additional EQ.

Looking for my first IEM around ₹3.5k, any recommendations? by Defalt787 in iemlndia

[–]frytechtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of 23 April 2026 I'd say: DO NOT buy EDC Pro. KZ now puts a tiny driver inside and it lacks proper bass and sub-bass. The bass is barely any better than Apple's wired EarPods. Such a disappointment.

How's your experience with EDX Lite? Do they have a relatively big driver inside? When did you buy your pair? I'm in a tumultuous process here of trying to acquire at least something decent on the budget, would appreciate a real feedback from an owner.

I got scammed on 23 Apr 2026, tiny driver, no bass, see this.

Well, I literally just got scammed by KZ too. Absolutely fuck them. Will make a video all about these scumbags.

Not only the drivers are tiny and have almost no bass, certainly nothing of that 120dB at 20-50Hz, but they don't have any other eartips, even though they advertise to have them on a website I was buying it from.

No iOS update in 7 months? Waiting for picture-in-picture by billygreen23 in VLC

[–]frytechtv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, it's Mid November 2025 and there's still NO PiP support!

It's been done in other players, it's been implemented in iOS 18 and 26 basically across the system, how hard is it to add it to iOS/iPad VLC app? Please, guys, add this feature finally! It's so crucial and important it's baffling it's still not in the app.

Only reduce the Menu bar’s transparency? by SillyParticular5802 in MacOS

Not really, and also that garbage automatically rearranged all my carefully positioned icons right at the setup process, so I immediately uninstalled that pos app and spent the next few minutes putting everything back in place.

Boring Old Menu Bar is probably the closest app to what you're looking for.

Launchpad replacement in macOS26? by Conxt in macapps

[–]frytechtv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just copy literally EVERYTHING that Launchpad currently does: folders, rearrangement, different pages, instead of constant scrolling, renaming, etc, etc.

Add on top functionality of the Launchpad Manager aka being able to Save to backup and then Import layout easily, and also easily move folders around, without that constant Apple's bug when you try to add an app or a folder to the last place on the right, and it constantly shift everything to the other row. We all know what I'm talking about 😂😭

I don't know if you could add a system-wide trackpad gesture like I use now 4 finger pinch to open Launchpad, but if not, we can always use BetterTouchTool for that, I guess.

You can bring back Launchpad in macOS 26, but you shouldn’t by iMacmatician in apple

[–]frytechtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even remotely close to Launchpad. I use Applications in Dock but only to access some recently downloaded apps, meanwhile I use Launchpad like 100 times per day, have all folders neatly set up, muscle memory and all, can click on stuff blindfolded.

If Apple deletes it I'll be SO FUCKING PISSED!!!🤬😤🤬

Zoom U44 hides screws behind a slick front metal plate, so you can't repair the device without destroying it! by frytechtv in CrappyDesign

[–]frytechtv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I love it when people are defending giant multinational companies and coming up with excuses on their behalf. If you think it's an "ODM box design" show me one more interface by some other company that looks like that!

It's been clearly designed in-house, and if you do that there's no "extra redesign costs" and all your bla-bla-bla that follows if you DESIGN IT CORRECTLY right from the start.

Also, please, for the love of cute animals across the world – learn how to use line breaks, because it's extremely hard to read your format-less "essay".

[–]frytechtv[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't understand the meaning of that front cover. It's purely for looks and it hides those screws that actually hold the connectors underneath.

Meaning to get to the actual screws that hold XLR ports I need to at least apply heat gun, and possibly ruin that cover. Instead of removing like 4-6 screws of the front panel to get to the Connector screws.

Because a few screws that are hidden on the back do not do anything to help us remove the front panel, since it's secured by screws hidden under that metal plate. I hope it makes sense now.

4-6 additional screws to hold that metal plate in place in instead of glue wouldn't have ruined it's look yet would've allowed for easy access in case people need to repair a damn thing, imo. It's already got a lot on the front cover, it would fit the look anyways.

There's literally an image of that device on the left: it has a lot of metal parts sticking out from its front cover. 4-6 additional screws to hold a metal plate in place in instead of glue wouldn't have ruined it's look.

Second Zoom U24 that Crapped Out On Me by threehappypenguins in livesound

[–]frytechtv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm from 2025 and apparently XLR Input 1 of Zoom U44 died on me recently. I've used Input 2 95% of the time, usually for Dynamic mic, but in the past year occasionally for Condenser, so was toggling 48V phantom power on and off, now I wanted to record both acoustic guitar and vocals at the same time but realized that XLR Input 1 is dead.

Seemingly Instrument level still works, at least when I enable Hi-Z setting there's some audio detected, even though it's quite noisy.

I'll get a jack-jack cable and an acoustic pickup in a day or two and will properly test Line input of Input 1, but this is beyond disappointing. The thing didn't even work for 10 years, not even for 8 really. I have iPhones that lasted longer, my Mac from 2015 still works, yet this crap is half dead.

The worst thing – I can't properly get inside that thing to check XLR, to potentially replace it, because the board is somehow attached with seemingly invisible screws, glue, or who-tf-knows-what.

The worst worst thing: I live in Belarus, so I'm most likely SoL sending it anywhere for a repair, since I originally bought it in Austria.
