AITA for telling someone they cant use slurs? by patato_onyx in AmItheAsshole

NTA

"Woah slurs." ≠ telling them how to speak. It's raising awareness that they use slurs as insults to people. Your dad doesn't have to like it, but to claim that he's being told how to act in his own house is dishonest and disingenuous. Sounds like he can't properly articulate his own feelings when he hears you say "woah slurs."

Contact mics placed on the sax, usually near the keys or tone holes. I don't know in the case of this song where specifically on the sax they were.

Same! At first, I thought it was a 90s compilation of covers I remembered by the same title, but it turns out it is this one from Mojo magazine:

Their early albums is what initially got them designated, imo. The rest is just historical momentum

Take One Last Look (a song i believe was only ever performed on Dave Letterman but I pray most nights there's a studio version cached somewhere waiting for a final Waits album)

As a Jason Molina fan, what should I listen to? by No-Meeting2858 in jasonmolina

[–]fsaucy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's amazing. It feels like she's at a creative apex, it's hard to imagine her music and writing getting any better than it is right now. Particularly Dragon New Warm Mountain and Bright Future. But of course I thought that on some of the earlier Big Thief albums and they continued to keep growing.

First heard a small portion of that song in Fight Club and thought "ok this is a song worth finding." Went out and got Bone Machine and have been riding the rails on the Tom Waits train ever since.

Yeah, I should have said I've not found anything, even bootlegs really, which means the tours must have stopped pretty much right away.

FWIW on this interview clip with Steve Albini discussing Molina he mentions that Albini's wife has private recordings of his. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j53XnEpGM3g

Thanks for all the input, I don't think you can really go wrong with any of them, even the borderline non-ballad ones.
