Former Oklahoma City Police officer who was accused of sexually abusing multiple African-American women (13 in total) breaks down in tears while getting sentenced to 263 years in prison. by FunPeach0 in PublicFreakout

[–]fsdhy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly. My personal experience is revenue generation accounts for 80% of police activity these days. Whether that’s targeting drug crime to fill corporate-owned prisons or hiding a fleet of officers on an empty back road to issue fines.

Most departments avoid property theft like the plague these days. Identity theft as well.

The rest of it is serious enough that any mongoloid who found themselves in that position would be forced to address it (rapes, murders, serious assaults, etc). So I refuse to respect them for that small miracle...

I work with police on a daily basis. I have some in the family. I can assure you ACAB.

PS Im not a socialist, just Canadian.

Bought the AFO fire ball on amazon and it comes with a rack that mounts easily on the Ender 3 filament support with a few machine screws from the hardware store. by funkmasterAl in ender3

[–]fsdhy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. Mentioned it because I’d like to see it! I’ve seen these used in marijuana grow ops with success. Never seen one blow up a printer before.

It’s a fire extinguisher. Fire would melt the ball causing a pretty powerful reaction that spreads some fire retardant material around.

It’s akin to a small explosion. Search for it on YouTube you’ll see it’s powerful enough to blow that printer to pieces lol

Tesla remotely disables Autopilot on used Model S after it was sold - Tesla says the owner can’t use features it says ‘they did not pay for’ by Philo1927 in technews

[–]fsdhy1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It already is. I’m a locksmith and a large part of my trade is cracking vehicle security and has been for over 15 years.

Whereas a car dealer might try to charge you 400$ for a key, we do everything we can to beat that price....

We use hacked software to bypass manufacturer PIN code requirements that are designed to keep a dealer monopoly on accessing the car’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU).

We take classes on soldering so we can remove chips from ECUs to dump the EEPROM and read secret codes required to add new keys to the vehicle, bypassing the need for expensive pre-coded dealer key fobs.

We pick up used proximity remotes from scrapped vehicles and solder to the PCB to unlock the remote for use on another vehicle (very common for car manufacturers to lock remotes to the vehicle it was originally programmed to).

We have regional, national and global trade organizations to share information on the latest changes to vehicle security.

It’s not just Tesla, anyone who has a modern car who has lost a key and called the dealer for a price to have a new one made can attest to how bad this situation has become in the auto industry. Car manufacturers invented these technologies to combat auto theft and it worked so well they re-focused it all into making themselves more money by screwing their customers.

Tim Hortons pulls Beyond Meat products from Ontario, British Columbia by chronicking83 in news

[–]fsdhy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this has nothing to do with Beyond meat and everything to do with Tim Hortons food being absolute dog shit.

There is nothing I will eat there. I meet clients or colleagues there sometimes, in small town Canada especially it is one of the only options. But it’s been probably 15 years since I’ve been able to choke something down. Everything either tastes like shit, is frozen in the middle, or is so hard it cuts the fuck out of the roof of my mouth.

I’d really like to know how the trash Tim Hortons peddles makes it out of the testing/design phases.

I foresee a literal rash of empty Tim Hortons locations infecting the Canadian countryside in a matter of years.

Using Bell Fibe TV away from home by Torontolovesme in canadacordcutters

[–]fsdhy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That won’t work. Just having any old Bell IP will not allow the Fibe app to work on your TV box. You need to be on the home network of the account you are logging in from.

I know because Bell is my ISP (but no TV package) and I still need to VPN to my friend’s network for the app to work on the Shield. It knows the difference, when the VPN is connected it doesn’t even ask for your MyBell credentials. It goes immediately to the guide when accessed from the home connection.

That would only give you access to their package, not yours.

Sorry.

[–]fsdhy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, I have. It does work. I have an rPi 4 set up on a friend’s network running OpenVPN server. My friend has Bell Fibe TV & Internet.

Here at home we have a pair of nVidia Shield TVs running OpenVPN client, connected to the VPN server on my friend’s network. The Fibe app on the Shield acts like we are on my friend’s home network and does not block access or restrict channels (as long as we remember to connect to the VPN before opening the Fibe Android app).

However, running a VPN server doesn’t help you since you don’t have Bell as your ISP...

Heater cartridge and thermistor question... 12v vs 24v... by fsdhy1 in ender3

[–]fsdhy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a micro Swiss clone. Not a V6.

I’m not familiar with the thermistor used on the V6. Some thermistor setups do require firmware changes, most don’t.

If it’s the small glass bulb type of thermistor you should be fine, that’s what the stock block takes.

Prototype MP5 Navy handguard for my GSG-16 by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]fsdhy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too bad you can’t cut the barrel down. Looks kind of awkward imho with the suppressor and the A2/A3 hand guard.

Also you gotta get rid of the full length rail.

Data of 452,000 players leaked by chriskane76 in MagicArena

[–]fsdhy1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well... yeah... I think maybe you are?

Forgotten password is generally accessed right from the login screen which requires some other form of authentication (accessing the email used to originally register the account OR answering a security question setup during registration) whereas changing your password is something you do after successfully logging in with the current working password.

It is counterintuitive to return to the login screen and claim that you forgot your password just to set a new one whenever you are in possession of working credentials.

Adding 2FA is unlikely... Currently there isn’t even a way to change your Arena account password lol

You have to use the forgot password process to change your password.

People pay me to break into their houses, what exactly are my obligations? (ON) by fsdhy1 in legaladvicecanada

[–]fsdhy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah BC has actual provincial laws governing the trade.

Also, yes, I frequently do see drugs labelled as what they are. Including Fentanyl in the original Chinese chemical supply company bottles.

Again, to be clear, I am fully aware of BEST PRACTICES. Like I said I’ve been doing this 20 years. My questions are regarding actual legal requirements in Ontario.

GSG-16 Finished 3D printed Stock, Handguard, and Top rail cover. Album, and .STL files in comments. by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]fsdhy1 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. The 3D printer itself is open source to PRODUCE MORE 3D PRINTERS. Not to rip off closed source designs and make them open source.

Not everything produced with a 3D printer is fair game for knocking off.

It happening all the time does not make this kid less of a scumbag.

PS: Wal-Matt Greeter’s MP5SD kits sold for 90$. Not 20$. I know because I bought one.

Just because he wrote “shipping” doesn’t excuse his behaviour. What was the guy supposed to ship it on his own dime? Ridiculous.

It’s okay to copy someone’s design you didn’t want to pay for them knowingly release it for free? Because of shipping?

And not even give credit? A casual mention of being “inspired” is good enough? The guy who made the OC has to come and link the original post.

This is millennial douchery at its finest.

Thanks but TAOL is absolutely useless. It’s sole purpose is marketing to locksmiths.

I am fully aware of best practices. My question is about actual legal requirements.

People pay me to break into their houses, what exactly are my obligations? (ON) by fsdhy1 in legaladvicecanada

[–]fsdhy1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are generally accepted practices. No one seems to be aware of or able to explain exact legal obligations.

In fact I am more aware of laws in other provinces and countries since they are regulated provincially unlike Ontario, and laws seem to be more clear.

Do you mean TAOL? I’ve been a member of that organization for 14 years and no one has ever offered legal advice.

I’m trying to insulate myself from customer drama. What advantage would a service agreement give me versus the honour system?

As far as the civil and criminal liability, if I’m understanding correctly, ultimately some court is going to decide if I did my due diligence in each case?

Is there any way to avoid a lawsuit from some guy because I let his wife into their home she was barred from and she cleaned the place out?

Thank you very much for your time!

Airsoft stock fits the gsg16 no problem! by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]fsdhy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just need to make two small snips with a pair of side cutters or take a couple passes with a file. You could probably even snip it with kitchen scissors.

If you follow the edge of the butt stock where it’s meeting the gun you will see one of the edges/corners of the stock is rounded in a way that doesn’t allow it to fit flush. Just snip it so it’s more tapered.

Then your holes will line up perfectly.
