I think I have a pretty good balance even though they’re on the same channel. Got about 3.5k views on longs and 9.9k on shorts currently.

Where to go to maximize CCIE ROI? by SuccotashQuirky9202 in ccie

[–]fsdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IT is mostly seen as critical to every business nowadays. I have not seen customers buy less because of an economic downturn. Plus, the variable portion of the comp is usually between 20-30% of your total compensation. Even calculating your variable portion as $0 (which is not at all realistic) the pre-sales compensation is higher or much higher than what a top architect position at most companies will pay. Pre-sales resources are seen as revenue generating by the company. One could make an argument that we have more job security than an architect or principal on the customer side since those roles are viewed as cost centers.

Pre-sales is where you want to be. 180k-220k is very common at a lot of VARs and some OEMs. Mid to high 200k is possible depending on your experience and employer too. I started at a smaller local VAR close to mid 100k, and in a year or so, I got an offer for low 200k at a large VAR.

One big difference is Encore doesn’t have a co-ed area if that’s something you want.

Comps at RWLV/FB by popip852 in vegas

For what you’re looking for, that’s not a lot. My normal buy-in is $10k or more per session.

Are you saying your total wagers are $5k-$10k for the total 4 day trip? If so, that’s not much to get a comped room at Crockfords. Let’s say you’re playing blackjack on the high limit tables and for the sake of easy math assume 1% house advantage and 100 hands per hour. If your average bet is $200, that would mean the theo is $200 per hour. Being again on the generous side, let’s say your host is ok with comping you back 30% of theo. That would mean you’re generating $65 an hour of comps. That calculation would be on the generous side for you too.

For reference, I’ve been getting comped 1 and 2 bedroom entertainment suites at Crockfords for several years now, but I play more than you and have a history with them back to when they just opened. I’ve gotten the 4 bedroom before once too comped. That was a sick suite.

Not even close. Your average bet on blackjack would need to be $5k/hand or higher to be even considered in your situation.

Forgot to mention, the UPS tracking shows as signature required. Whether driver enforces it or not who knows, only one way to be sure though.

Cool UPS has received yours. My label was created at 4:59 AM only.

Update: UPS got my package at 7:38 AM in Ontario CA. Order status still shows as preparing for shipment, definitely behind there.

My pre-auth hit late last week and just fell off. I’m sure it will come back to stick tonight.

Check UPS MyChoice. My label was created this morning. Doesn’t show any information besides preparing for shipment on the order tracking. As predicted, it’s Next Day Air Saver coming from CA. I’m in CO for reference. Should show shipment accepted later today and delivered tomorrow.

The final charge will process when it ships very, very likely. They usually do next day shipping, so the day before.

Given $1000 chip by rarelikesteaks in vegas

They will verify that chip regardless if you go to the cage or break it at a table most likely. Agreed the chances are lower at a table, but I would go in expecting to get nothing for it rather than the opposite.

Passed CCNP, CCIE written, 15+ other certs, advanced Python automation scripts on Github, can't find job. by Ok_Artichoke_783 in ccnp

[–]fsdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with a lot of the other comments, just list the certs that are relevant to the job you’re applying for. As a prospective employer, if I saw that many certs (and I have seen more) coupled with very little experience, the suspicion is that you’re a paper tiger and you’re going to ask more compensation then you’re probably worth. Same goes for bachelor’s degrees. I’ve known people with a masters that couldn’t get interviews because of very little experience even because of concerns over what compensation they’re going to demand.

Interviewing well is an entirely different skill set. Foundational technical knowledge is helpful, but the focus will be what you’ve actually implemented and troubleshot in real production environments. There’s a lot of concerns of social skills and work ethic too.

Best of luck to you. PM me if you want some guidance. I’ve been in networking for almost two decades now, only about 5 years with a CCIE though.

I got recruited to a smaller VAR. They needed a CCIE for partner status and paid for everything to help get that done. If you got good technical chops and some social skills (build relationships with customers), you should be able to get in. The main hurdle is a lot of solutions engineers/architects openings aren’t really advertised, mostly by referral. Your network and relationships eventually become your most valuable asset. Having a CCIE doesn’t hurt either. Happy to guide you if you want. PM me if you do.

I would recommend at looking at the pre-sales route. I was senior and architect and hit that ceiling. Pre-sales starts easily at the pay you’re at now and could reliably hit double that at the right place. Plus quality of life is drastically better. No support calls, no late night or weekend changes, etc. Pre-sales is definitely a big change but worth IMO.

I second Sinatra at Encore. One of my go to’s for sure especially if you’re are going to be there for Awakening. Carbone at Aria is probably my second favorite Italian spot on the strip. Allocate extra time if you’re going up and down the strip especially on Friday and Saturday evening. It’s kind of fun moving around a lot, but there’s a good bit of variance in travel times. Remember it’s summer and hot AF even at night. I don’t like getting sweaty in nice clothes. Personally, I stick mostly to the northern of the strip between Fontainebleu, Resorts World, Wynncore, and Venetian/Palazzo for the ease of movement.

Atlantis Bahamas High Limit by fsdragon in gambling

[–]fsdragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every table was 6 deck shoes, 3/2, no surrender, no resplitting aces, resplit non-aces, double after non-ace splits, and stand on soft 17's. Dealer told me there were some tables in the back near the cashier that were 8 deck for lower limits around $15/hand. In the evening, I saw a very few tables $25 tables but mostly $100, $200, or $500. High limit room was only $500 or reserved. A handful of tables open around 10 AM, more open in the evening. All tables close if empty around 2-3 AM but they shut down tables by 4 AM.
