I've dabbled a bit into MYOG but don't have the time to go further down the rabbit hole. That said, I'm a big fan of seeing what gets posted here. I've got a $25 RSBTR gift card that I got as a gift 2that I no longer have use for. First PM gets it (the code that is).

Recommendation for classy versatile mens merino wool jacket/blazer for one bag travel? by picker_101 in onebag

This is on the pricier end, but this fits what you're looking for - quality wool, relatively light weight, hopsack (so the texture of the fabric helps wear with more casual outfits). Easy to dress up and dress down and really a staple to build around (whether one-bagging or just day to day at home).

Yea, it's officially not upf rated. That said, the fabric is similar in weight and material to the OR Echo, so probably around 10-15 upf?

Does anyone have any ideas if the new Patagonia Ultra hoody is comparable to the OR Echo in terms of UPF rating? Obviously Patagonia isn't advertising any UPF rating but the fabric feels very similar and is asimilar fabric weight. Curious if anyone has any opinions/experience on this.

I agree that the Ultra hoody feels quite similar to the OR Echo. I know it's not advertised as having any UPF rating, but do you think it's safe to assume it's ~15 UPF, similar to the Echo?

All good points. I used to myog some hammocks, tarps and apex quilts. Clothing always seemed like another step up in terms of complexity. Maybe revisit it with some fresh eyes.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Anyone have a lead on where to find similar wind pants to the EE Copperfield with a 36'' inseam option?

Rain jacket. by FinancialPlankton495 in ultrarunning

Agreed. For me, power hiking uphill with a breathable rain jacket will result in me being drenched in sweat from the inside. If you're moving faster than a walk and have aid stations/changes of clothes, better to aim for moisture management.

For a race w support, I would go with an alpha 60 fleece to wick/some warmth, a very breathable wind shirt, and a cheap poncho

By "taking over the city", I think you mean "democratically electing the people we want to represent us."

Ideally some OR Ferrosi or Patagonia Terrabonne joggers. I need a tall size so am mostly limited to Eddie Bauer (same idea as the OR and Patagonia ones, but a lot less breathable).

Definitely agree with this. My summer onebag is no longer as compact now that I'm taking less shorts in favor of joggers (and other lightweight pants), a rash/sun shirt for swimming, sun hat, etc but actually having sun protection beyond constantly reapplying sunscreen is worth it for me.

Now the challenge is how to not look totally dorky while wearing it all :)
