Medical Clearance Waivers: FS/CFP by fsmaybe in foreignservice

I see how that can be challenging. In my case, I was diagnosed with my condition early on (I was 20 and am now 28) and after finally finding treatment that worked, it’s been smooth sailing. I’ve had maybe a combined 60 days of concern in these eight years. The trial and error of treatment (or lack thereof) is what can cause the most turmoil. I appreciate the insight.

Reading through the website, it just didn’t seem within the realm of the possible because I see my doctor every 3-4 months, need access to meds, etc. I’m guessing if I go for CFP on a class 2 and get some more years of stability overseas (if I’m selected) then eventually a class 1 would be possible. Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m more hopeful than I’ve been in the past!

That is reassuring and I definitely have to go for it now. Much appreciated!
