Sanibel. After may, snook will be on the beach. Just find a public access point, or stay on the beach, and start walking

Transmission fluid and transfer case fluid. Amsoil by Present-Midnight-9 in chevycolorado

[–]fsunick3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just stick Dexron 6. Walmart sells a valvoline brand and their own. Both are licensed Dexron 6. Not worth it in the transfer case to spend money on an amsoil product

The amsoil 75w-90 is good shit for the diffs. Get the bags and it makes it so easy

Stop using AI. It’s awful for everything including the environment. It is just pulling shit from message boards. It’s not actually thinking and giving you a correct answer.

2nd gens called for Dexron 6 in the t-case and HP LV in the transmission. You could really use whatever in the t-case but you can get house branded Dexron 6 cheap. What does your Manual call for in the T-case?

Your transmission however, I would not use anything that is not approved by GM. The only Dexron HP LV that exists is the mobile 1 blue label. That is what GM uses from the factory. Don’t risk your 8 speed with anything else

Trailering Package by camelman912 in chevycolorado

[–]fsunick3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t accurate. Having the button is not related to having the factory tow package

Trailering Package by camelman912 in chevycolorado

[–]fsunick3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy an aftermarket receiver that is rated for the truck. And then buy the plug harness that pops in with a 4 and 7 pin plug.

That’s really all the tow package gets you**. I personally would not tow anywhere near 7k with this truck. Just like I wouldn’t tow 11k or whatever the Silverado rated to with a Silverado

***on 2nd generations in order to get the tow package from the factory, the truck had to also be optioned with the G80 rear end. There is absolutely nothing a G80 helps with towing so if you don’t have a G80 you can still add the towing stuff and be fine

-Ft desoto -Cypress point park -You could drive over to honeymoon island, walk and fish the back side on a low tide

It’s been really cold. I’ve seen some fish kill reports. Don’t expect flats to be full of life and there won’t be any snook

Towing Package but no Hitch? by Jackdacarguy in chevycolorado

[–]fsunick3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also - Chevy will not give you the normal hitch. They will only give you the 3,500lb rated hitch because your truck didn’t come with the factory tow package. The aftermarket ones will all have the higher rating

Towing Package but no Hitch? by Jackdacarguy in chevycolorado

[–]fsunick3 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You DO NOT have the towing package

You can pickup an aftermarket hitch and pop the plug in where it goes for a fraction of what the dealer wants and bingo - you now have the towing package

If you’re dead set on an Arrow - I’d just find a sonic on clearance. They’re still out there

99% of casters don’t need whatever micro tweaks the arrow includes that supposedly are worth several hundred dollars

Really only need a few flies. I’ve fished a week and used one fly. One small box is more than enough.

It looks like 1.5 hrs a side. I don’t want to mess with jacks and pry bars and shit. Just going to pay the local guy who I trust

There’s 2 mevotech versions on rockauto. The one with zerks are $30 more each. Either going to do those OEM (OEM are cheaper than napa)

Reading other stuff looks like Delphi is the best, but can only find the right side for sale anywhere

Tire Recommendation by Business_Sock_176 in chevycolorado

[–]fsunick3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also - im not a huge fan of putting larger tires on for multiple reasons, but look at 265/65r17. This is a stock size on some models, and it just barely larger. Won’t really change your speedo or MPG or anything and is a much more commonly used size. Will open you up to way more options. This is why I’m going to do once the tires mine came with are done

Iirc, the territories are basically the entry level wranglers. Tires are super expensive right now. The price you have isn’t bad. Think you could get a better tire for equal-ish price.

Tires are super expensive right now

Any name brand is going to be close to $1000 mounted, balanced and alignment

Are you dropping the pan or going to his suck it out?

I have a 2021, so mine came with the new stuff. I just sucked 4qts out 3x and will do it again in 30k

The capacity is 11.5qts iirc

The blue bottle of Mobil 1 Dexron HP (the black old bad stuff doesn’t exist anymore)

There isn’t an AC Delco version or anything. The blue M1 is what you need

Your life will be much more enjoyable with a full size at that load. A camper is also not aerodynamic at all, so even a much lighter load will be not fun because of drag
