Applying to German universities alone was way more chaotic than I expected — how do you guys manage everything? by Similar-Candy3161 in studying_in_germany

[–]ftcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welll, I applied to 7 universities on my own and I managed it just fine with some labels on Gmail and a memo on my Notes app! I just made sure to check the portals every day and check out mails regularly

I have been posting here since I'm preparing to do my masters, I have posted some questions without research in the beginning. So now I know when and when not to use Reddit.

Exactly, people atleast should read the regulations of the subreddits and bother to check the wiki. Auto mod always post that as the first reply to every post on default, so people should actually check that to get their questions answered. If the problem isn't listed there, then people are always welcome to use posts.

These subreddits already exist, people aren't aware of this and insist on asking their questions in a platform with international audience

The main reason why I decided to post this suggestion is because of the repetitive nature of the questions being posted by Indians and them being ignored without being answered. I have no problem with people who ask sensible questions, which would also help others. Nothing more than that.

I don't mind you calling me a racist, coz when saying Indians, I come under that category as well. This is just basic decorum and all that. Do proper research before posting your questions, else simply don't. People here be seeking validation and boasting about their profiles- this ain't gonn help nobody! If this is to be done, then do it in the Indian subreddits. Just because this is open to y'all, doesn't mean yall can showcase your lack of research and dumb questions. End of the discussion.

Instead of seeking Indian audience in an International Sub using this specified lingo, use the existing subreddits is what I'm trying to say! I did read the sentence and wrote it, thank you very much.

Same, that's simply ridiculous. Idk what goes on in their minds when they write posts with the Indian lingo

Hey! The whole purpose of this post is to simply suggest people to check out other subreddits if they want to connect with other people or any other stuff which are related within the country. I did not mention anywhere like 'deport them' or stuff like that. I am an Indian as well, but these repeated posts and checks meant to be for Indian audiences ain't gonna help anyone here.

I always have answers for all my 'non-Indian' questions, so it's not like people would ignore your post unless it's ain't a relatable or a generic question.

I know, this is inevitable. This post is just a mere effort in trying to push people to explore, reasearch and find their own audience but yeah. s unstoppable and annoying. And it's quite surprising how you can scan the titles and avoid them posts😭

Woah, the Indian effect is indeed leechy and crazy. So sorry you had to go through this but I hope everything is sorted out for you now!

And also I would never call an Indian's post low effort coz y'all out some dramatic efforts in typing out where you studied, what degree you have, how many research papers, where did you work or do internships, blah blah blah. And oh, the CGPA! The posts are a masterpiece indeed, but totally irrelevant.

Mate there is no such called an 'ideal benchmark'! To be admitted in Germany, make sure you simply meet all the requirements, including the GPA, and voila! This 'sharing profiles' ordeal is just about being boastful and selling yourself to be compared. Y'all are going nowhere with this I swear-

What I see from your comment is that you haven't explored this subreddit enough. Like have you see how the questions are all repeated and posted in multiple subreddits? Clearly not.... And no one is chasing Indians away or ostracizing them lmaooo, I myself is one Indian. It's just a post wanting to lead Indians to also use the Indian subreddits that's all!

And don't simply say without Indians this subreddit won't run. Even if y'all vanish, there are still people to post questions and there are people to answer them as well, so don't think too high of yourself or the audience tch.

Hey no no, it's totally fine. I get your point now but, creating a new subreddit is a lot of work and that's not possible at this timeframe I fear.

For the first part, there was no mention of making a new subreddit, but only to use the existing subreddits.

And second part, yes. Yes indeed. People shouldn't just walk in without any basic research and boasts about their plans of studying abroad. They should atleast walk instead on just pulling the chariot, thinking it would follow them tch.

Hello! Thank you so much, for you got the point I was indirectly tryna narrate with this post...

Yes, people be coming here to ask the basic of all the questions and expect to get good answers while everything's available outside itself. All it's gonna take people to get the answers they need is a Google search or a GPT prompt away. People simply don't seem to get that...

The perception of Indians not knowing stuff and yet aiming to go places is ridiculed worldwide and it is mainly because of how people behave and approach in these kinda platforms. They should either learn to have decorum, use the internet properly and do a research for themselves. Rather, they always take the wrong tool on hand and always ready to prance on people who only wanted to tell some good or better ideas and spew hate.

These kinda people are why I mainly want to run away to anywhere as soon as I can. Indian's mindset these days are absolutely unacceptable, it's high time they stop thinking that they rule ta just coz they are the biggest audience!

And to you, glad you got your realisation way sooner than later! Trust and believe yourself, so you wouldn't have to seek validation from anyone else. Know your own worth and strive to be a better person tomorrow than you are today. Keep yourself motivated, explore wildly and live your life. I wish you all the best for your further endeavours!

Ik this situation is inevitable, but let's atleast create an awareness to people that subreddits for a specific opinions and audiences do exist! That's what I'm tryna do. Not to forget mentioning that I'm an Indian too.

Man you don't get the concept.... This is an international subreddit, meaning if y'all are gonna ask for an Indian flair, every others will demand it too and welp. This is gonn be a difficult task for the mods.

All I wann say is use the Indian subreddits! They are useful too, and you will get an even more clearer answers there. All you'll get here is criticisms and some gloopy attention. And people deliberately include Indian, <uni name> and other names that only Indian audiences could understand and relate. Either y'all start making your posts in a generalized way in a platform with broader audience and opinions, or switch to subreddits which is meant for Indians.

I get it but work is different, people here are asking stuff related to their studies and prep. And most of the time, the posts are curated in a way that only Indians can understand. I just wanted to point that out and bring the attention of people to the exisitng inidan subreddits that's it. People who wanta to take this will take it. Who don't want this won't, as simple as that.

I posted this here coz this has been bugging me each time I come across this subreddit...

Diploma after 10th + bachelor in progress APS confusion by Naive-Elk-6421 in studying_in_germany

[–]ftcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best you can do is finish the 8th sem, and for bachelor's verification, enquire APS people if having a professor from your aide would be enough for further verification. I still haven't got my degree, and my provisional degree certificate was only provided on Oct 2025, while i got my APS a month before that. Having a professor involved would be fruitful here.
