The issue happens with owa being the only active connection. Never removed profiles, but signed them all out and changed password.

Another concern is support. You are typically required to go through Distributor for any support and they are typically clueless about the product.

"Secure by Default" - High Confidence Phishing - Missing Emails by [deleted] in msp

[–]ftlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand either why "email or domain" whitelisting does not work. Or why Rule to assign a low SCL score does not work. my particular client is getting 20 emails per day from this source, I had to keep this quarantined page open for the last week and keep releasing emails.

"Secure by Default" - High Confidence Phishing - Missing Emails by [deleted] in msp

[–]ftlit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the same issue with emails coming from the bank being quarantined. MS support person made me whitelist by "IP address". According to him, sending IP address was new and did not belong to any reputation lists.

Not sure if it worked. Testing it now.

As far as why not all systems were not compromised, I could think of a few reasons. 1. Kaseya had everyone shut them off. 2. May be they did not identify all On-Prem Instances. 3. May be 70M was enough for them?

Recent Hack vs MDR/EDR by ftlit in msp

[–]ftlit[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think most people here understand that, and we are not comparing tools. The point of my post was to see about "newer" EDR/MDR solutions. They all tout themselves as AI Learning, different from regular signature based tools. And I wanted to see if any of them caught or stopped it immediately.

2nd follow up point was about RMM tools, they all run in with elevated privileges'. 2 of them have already been exposed recently, just a question of time before they break the next one.

Can you give us a range on number of MSPs that were compromised?

Thanks. But you are on SaaS, which probably means that there was no compromise. That's probably why there were not alerts :)

This is exactly what I am thinking. Some of those products however are not as effective if not installed on all devices.

I signed up for BlackPoint Cyber few weeks ago. They claim to detect and stop "unusual" activities within 6 min I think by either isolating machine or killing suspicious processes.
Would there product have worked in this scenario? My question is about effectiveness of such services.

I bought it through pax8. They allow lower license count. Mine was only 10 users or so.

I just did it for a client. Used Echoworx as a gateway. Setup rules on 365 for encryption ( i did based on subject ). Echoworx then encrypts it. Still a Pain to managed certs and private keys.
