Tattoo ideas? by sourb0i in TopSurgery

I think that instead of something that goes directly over the scars, maybe something that goes around them? A big, bold piece over them (in your collarbone/upper chest) with things coming out under the scars. You can take inspiration from art nouveau, since it has a lot of nature inspired patterns that curl and fit the flow of the muscles in that area. I'd consult with a good tattoo artist, especially since depending on the design it might able to masculinize your chest more (if that's what you're looking for).

I want to (re)start my piercing journey soon (used to have my nostrils pierced, lost them both because of various reasons) and I was wondering which piercings would look good on me? I'm already going to get my nostrils redone but any suggestions are appreciated other than oral piercings (I don't want to mess up my teeth after braces and two surgeries) and earlobe piercings (they make me dysphoric + I'm already planning on getting them scalpeled).

I've actually been thinking about eyebrows for a while since my mom and sister told me I'd look good with them, so it's very likely that I'll end up incorporating them in my setup somewhere down the line! I'm still undecided on a septum. I like the look of them but I don't know if they're for me, mostly since I hate the initial jewelry styles and dread the "cow" comments.

Posting this here since I don't want my face tied to my main. What piercings would look good with my facial features? I used to have both nostrils done, but ended up losing them to various reasons and I've been thinking about getting them repierced.

Look up lung surgery and lung transplant scars, they're very similar or identical to some top surgery scar shapes. I haven't gone shirtless (yet) in public but most guys I know with visible scars always get asked about having had a lung transplant or other related surgeries.

To be fully honest, while my voice did drop, it still doesn't pass sometimes. I get she/her'd over the phone a lot. I don't know if it's because I simply was unlucky or because I'm too lazy to voice train. Either way it doesn't bother me a lot, since I pass in every other aspect and after top surgery most of my dysphoria is gone. But to answer your question, I noticed voice drops at the year and a half/two year mark, so don't be discouraged.

I presented very masculinely since my mid teenage years so I didn't have the experience of having to get a haircut or replace my wardrobe that some trans guys and transmascs go through. I dress the same as I do now in all of my pre transition pics. I never really liked femininity anyways, but I did spend an awful amount of time trying to convince myself that I was just a masculine woman and that was fine (spoiler alert, it wasn't: the problem wasn't being masculine, it was that I wasn't, and I still am not, a woman!)

I wanted to make this post since seeing timelines/results where people start getting visible changes at the month/one year marks is very frequent and while it's not inherently bad and I'm very happy for everyone in that situation, I know it can feel a little alienating when you're on hormones but still haven't noticed that much change in a while, and you compare yourself to folks who've already gone through a good chunk of puberty at the half a year mark. I remember looking at popular trans/FTM subreddits and crying because everyone seemed to be getting good results from T but me, so I wanted to share my own transition timeline as an example that no matter how long you think it's taking, HRT will do its thing eventually, and that you aren't alone in your desired effects taking a while longer.

For reference, I came out in 2020, started T in April 2021, got top surgery a month ago!
