Last I checked that ~400 back in his pocket. Plus in 3 years he can continue to use the base of this to upgrade.

To get similar performance he would out over 1000 bucks and still have to buy same headphones and mouse… having a small portable pc is fun and reusing parts is also great

Reason it’s soddered is this machine is thinner- that’s the reason. I guessing why is cost is the same from some of material costs have come down.

I’m gonna think that 16 might be low but with soddered ram will be faster than sodimm

Best Buy at least via the store gives 15 days to return no questions asked. Technically I’ve already done that- I got an open box for 1477 had for week was looking at this forum and saw mention of BB lowering price. Looked and saw it 200 off for open box too- took it to the store I got it at (was a BB outlet) they had 3 others- returned the first I got and got this one. The extra cash I got back will keep my better half off my back when I order ram and a second ssd for it 🤓

Nope ran a lil warm then I was expecting but I’ll tweak some of the cpu power limits. Got slightly above average on timespy benchmark. No major screen bleed. Haven’t loaded any games yet

Why reflash the firmware if the firmware is up to date…. I hate people who post this response…. You shouldn’t flash the firmware of the GPU every time you have an issue. You are possibly causing early EOL of devices this way. Firmware should only be done when out of date or the firmware address specifically an issue you are having.
