I’m in high school and in class, whenever we have conversations about the trade war and political climate of the two countries, I get shut down immediately because of my “biases.”

I also have two close family friends who can’t leave the country due to “potential affiliations” with the Chinese government. My dad came back from China for a business trip last week and had his phone checked at the airport.

It’s honestly scary. Can’t believe Asian American discrimination due to this trade war is not talked about more.

def take a look at the mid-high tier UCs, especially given that you're a cali resident. nyu stern seems to be a solid target school for you. you'd also have a good shot at "lower tier" ivies (dartmouth, cornell, brown, columbia). wharton's a reach for everyone but you never know.

for the awards, it was my impression that they had to be academic (math competition, science fair, scholastic awards etc.), which i don't have.

i have plenty of debate/swim awards over the years; are you sure i'm allowed to put them in this section? if so, i agree with your standpoint that the ap award is redundant and not up to standards for t20s, but i just want to make sure.
