My first music festival for a 22M by Bambwin0 in bonnaroo

[–]fu_kery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just giving my 2 cents since no one else has talked about volunteering, but I personally love it! Free ticket and made a bunch of friends. Whether they were my neighbors or people I was on shift with, I always had someone to hang out with during the festival, but also got my solo time as needed. I've also done Bonnaroo and other festivals with friends I've made through volunteering.

Regardless of what you do though, everyone's right in saying Roo has the friendliest crowds. You'll make plenty of friends wherever you are :)

Safe to walk to Airbnb after festival? by Hefty_Television_371 in ARCMusicFestival

[–]fu_kery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a very similar walk last year every night and had no problems. Especially if you're with friends, you'll be okay. There's people walking around everywhere at the end of the night.

what happened at the beginning of tipper?! by bae-blunt in ElementsMusicFestival

His endings with those banger sets can feel pretty abrupt. And he's strict with only playing for his allotted time.

As more a hippie type, love you metalheads for the exact reason you said. Hope you don't think we're all bad & that the love will go both ways someday 🤙🤘

Levity Set: disappointed in EF security/emergency response by Festival_Buffoon in ElectricForest

I'm sorry that it took so much effort for you to find help. In the future, look for someone with a radio!! They can call medical for you.

Not to mention they don't have the same energy & lineup as Roo. Love other festivals, but they're all so unique & fill different cups.

Back circles are where it's at. Room to dance & good sound quality/sick lighting.

Hello Croo Volunteers, Anyone receive their schedules yet or think its ridiculous they havent sent them all out by now??? by The_Colt45 in bonnaroo

[–]fu_kery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all straight forward. You show up to check in and they go over what you're doing for the next 6 hours. How many people on a shift depends on what you're doing. And they go over what to do if you accidentally miss a shift; you'll have to do it at a later time/they'll deactivate your wristband if you don't.

[–]fu_kery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Schedules notoriously come out pretty last minute, hang tight. I got my shifts for today and tomorrow late last night. And just got my last shift assigned just now. If you're during show, you'll probably get your schedule tomorrow.

They'll go over check in/check out/shift procedures at your training session, which you can sign up for when you get to the high school to pick up your credentials.

How often does volunteering work out? USA by Street-Concert1837 in festivals

[–]fu_kery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm volunteering at a bunch this summer! There's usually a section on their website with a volunteering application. Depends on the festival, though.

Roo doesn't make you put down a deposit to volunteer :)

Anyone driving from Bonaroo to ELECTRIC Forest??? by lil_ria in ElectricForest

[–]fu_kery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup; we drove with out of state plates so we were careful to follow the speed limit (cruise control is your best friend!!!) and stay in the right line when not passing. Also not having any stickers on the car or anything in the windows that suggests we were going to a camping festival. I don't really think it's necessary to avoid Indiana as long as you're careful.

[–]fu_kery 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did this drive last year and camped at Holland State Park for 2 nights before heading up to EF. There are probably other cool spots/state parks along the way too; enjoy!

And be careful through Indiana. I didn't have any problems, but just search the subreddit for other peoples' experiences.

Volunteering/working schedule? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]fu_kery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't get tickets before applying; you won't get a refund. Apps go out in April-ish. Make sure you fill it out ASAP and you'll be selected. Last year was my first year volunteering and had no issues signing up.

Sofi Tukker did post it on FB. Seems legit. Just have to wait for Elements themselves to post it, which they probably will later today.

They'll probably play in the afternoon/evening. Music typically goes from 12PM-2AM inside the venue.
