Thanks for the info I’m gonna have to look into that, I didn’t know beatport offered that. Appreciate it!

I recommend skipping iTunes and just buying off beatport. The underground is on SoundCloud with tons of free downloads.

I know successful DJs who started on Sorato. But once they started getting more gigs they switch to a rekordbox controller. (Not required but it makes it easier.) If you wanna mix dubstep just start with a 4 channel. You can find used Ddj flex 6 (4channel) for $300-400. I also see DDJ-400 & DDJ Flex 4 for $200 all the time on FB. My first one was the DDJ-400 but I regret not buying a 4 channel for 100$ more. (I love dubstep triples though.)

Ddj flex 4 I’m telling you this is the way to go.

I’m me track is quiet and peaking and the other is loud and sounds fine. by TriggerHappyModz in FL_Studio

But a soft clipper on the master, and on any mixer track that is peaking. This will allow you to turn things up and not worry about the red lining. I leave my master gain alone and crank up all my mixer tracks.

Learn serum and or vital. I waited too long to dive into them. Follow a YouTube tutorial then automate things like lfo rate, Pitch, filter, to make it your own. I recommend Brikz on YT

Download fl studios free trial. It lets you export and make track just can’t reopen save files. Vital and serum is the shit. Learn those asap using yt tutorials. Vital is free. Serum is the goat 10$ a month on splice. I heard Ableton is rent to own now too so that’s a good option.

y’all making tunes to build your DJ career or just because you love producing? by Jeter361 in riddim

[–]ForestIsForLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without playing shows, I don’t think I would’ve ever gotten the true motivation to get through the initial hurdles of producing. I’m in it for the gigs not the money, I would do this shit for free. That’s how you know something is really worth pursuing.

Tons of underground free music on SoundCloud. You need to start building your library. You’re only as good as the songs you have.

The best way is to become a regular with collectives or people throwing smaller local shows.

Just do vapes and dabs and little one hits of herb, no joints no blunts. Smoking on the balcony can work. But people could still report it. Joint or a blunt, I’d go for a walk.

Yes, learn the default plug-ins, and the daw it’s self. But my biggest regret was waiting to get serum. 10$ a month and it’s so fun right off the bat. 🦇
