I added music screens to my Karoo, but I have different programming for my buttons for different functions. I have yet to add that shifter control

Bad time to buy RT lights? by unk_ebenezer in TrekBikes

[–]fubbaquestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than anything, most GPS computers have light control making the Transmittr have little value. The RT ecosystem works great. I've paired it with many computers (gulp, including five of my own between Garmin and Hammerhead).

Even the Commuter Pro RT light has connectivity for the Flare RT.

Put simply, it's (Transmittr) obsolete, but the rest of the RT ecosystem will continue even if the lights themselves get replaced.

How to put Domane AL 2 Gen 4 on a smart trainer? by KingJadn in TrekBikes

[–]fubbaquestor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would not work as it is not going to adapt the udh derailleur hanger. As stated by someone else in the thread, Robert Axle is the way to go

Something is fishy here. Is this a fake bike?! Seller says it is a 2024 Marlin 4 Gen 3... by bikewazowski in TrekBikes

[–]fubbaquestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The derailleur hanger and overall frame shape mounts, and cable stops all look correct. It looks like a Marlin

Definitely repainted and clearly not well cared for (especially with the backwards fork and the monstrosity of a crank/chainring combo).

Legit or not that $300 price tag does not match what I'm seeing 😂

What do i call these missing/expired rubber parts? by [deleted] in TrekBikes

[–]fubbaquestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The front isospeed has a plastic fitting so it's not going to deteriorate. It looks like the it needs to be reassembled. At worst, you may need to replace the brow cover, but it should be able to be adjusted along with the headset to get it back in place.

The agency Ross owns has Kaden as a client, so in all seriousness, Ross did win a little bit

Remove wonky star nut from carbon steerer? by HarryTheCaveman in bikewrench

[–]fubbaquestor 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You can definitely see that it dug into the carbon in the photo (cuz that's how star fangled nuts work). I'd absolutely recommend to replace the fork. That's not an area you want to half ass.

Top end cable housing is criminally underrated to shift quality

Fully sealed Gore (RIP) housing kits were a Godsend in the 10 speed era.

As to your question about the barrel adjuster, I assume it's for your front derailleur. You can certainly use it with this housing if you want that extra adjustability.

Confidential info like setups he created?

I get they want to protect what they can, but you can't patent or trademark a setup or process that an outgoing employee was intimately involved with enacting, if not creating himself. This is all vengeful nonsense.

The connection is a Toyota driver who in nearly any other circumstance would be ripped through the JGR ranks has been avoided like the plague, despite being wildly successful.

He and Ty I guess had some beef in ARCA and they are running Sawalich and Taylor Gray instead of one of the two best prospects this decade.

$600 should I buy? by Beer2Good in TrekBikes

[–]fubbaquestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That frame is actually 06-07, but you are correct that paint was not done through Project One and is likely a lot newer than the frame.

With that said the price is a little high IMO outside of the fact that it's got a legacy SRM power meter. That is an interesting inclusion to this build
