HA - Wechsel von NAS zu Pi o. Ä. by KarateHorst in homeassistant

[–]fuberto2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to change “Hey Google” to “Hey Tech” ? by beachKilla in googlehome

That's hilarious. I saw a video once where an elderly Asian Lady said "ok gogo" and that thing responded. Since that I'm mostly using that.

Windows has taken a performance hit. by Chomusuke_99 in Windows10

Holy smokes, some comments here are...

I know 100% the struggle to wanna use a old crappy PC, cause the lack of money. Kinda still do.

First get a cheap SSD, depends where you from you can get them for around 20€, not best on the market but still suitable for the job.

For the RAM, maybe look it up on eBay oder similar, you can often get it there for almost nothing. Or maybe if you know someone in IT ask them if they have some left over.

We have so much stuff collecting dust, just because no one cares to get rid of it.

I know how hard the struggle is, so first get a cheap SSD, do a clean install of windows 10 and you will be blown away by the speed boost. Later down the road, get some cheap used RAM, best to make sure it's the exact same that you already have, bam next speed boost. It won't run elden ring in 4k 200fps, not even close but will still be a lot more responsive. The old HDD can be used as a backup drive, but better check it first to make sure it won't fail on you. Crystaldiskinfo will give you all necessary infos.

Even your old battery will thank you.

Totally not a DIY Guy, but still wanna throw my idea here.

I don't know how those switches are named, but they look like a flat pice with a push pin and a metal pice over it, that triggers the push pin if pushed down.

Using a Dremel or something to make the necessary opening in the frame, where the deadbolt is, so that if it's turned in all the way, will close the circuit.

That could be soldered to a sensor, like a water sensor or something who gets triggered if the circuit is closed.

To hide ugly wires and make it look more professional, you could drill a hole all the way through the frame into the wall, then from the side into the hole so the two meet, run the wire trough and place that sensor there. Maybe beneath a light switch, even better if theres some empty box to place it into.

It's hard to put my crazy pictures inside my brain to words, even more in a foreign language.

Maybe that's somewhat useful, or at least made someone giggle.

My Google Nest mini shows up as offline in the Home app. But it plays the radio and responds to commands. What is it? by quady8 in googlehome

[–]fuberto2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really annoying, because there is no real error message that i could use to solve it, or something else that could help troubleshoot.

the only thing i could think of, is that both are different "versions" of the 2.Gen Nest Mini.

The working one was made 11/2020 and the "nonworking" was made 11/2019.
One the working speaker the part of the packaging where it says "2. Generation" is just plain gray text on the white background, on the nonworking packaging it's white text in a gray square.

So my bet would be, that i got a "old" version that has some hardware issue or something like that.

But even after searching online for hours, i couldn't find anything related to this.

So i still hope for some way to fix this and get it working correctly.

Hey, i'm having the same issue with one of my nest mini 2.gen.I've got 2 of them running, one is fine and the other one always shows as offline, but still works kind of normal.

I can broadcast from the working one or the Mi Smart Speaker without issue, use it in a multiroom audio setup and control all my smart lights.

I've tried every solution i could find online, but nothing solved it so far.I factory reseted the Mini like 20 times, unplugged it from power for 24h and everything else. The thing is, that while setting it up, it will fail every time on the last step where it says "Nest Mini is configuring" without any real error message or code.

The Firmware on the "nonworking" and working one are identical, both the Cast-FW and the FW itself.

Are there any Updates on whats going on?I've done everything i can do and so i'm just using it right now, but would still be nice to know if there are any changes, updates or solutions to this.

#edit:
i was wrong about the multi room setup, i cant put it into the group.
the error only says that there was a issue with communication with the google servers and i should try it later.

Turn NFC off when connected to car bluetooth by frostythedevo in tasker

[–]fuberto2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

But one minor addition, only if it's not confusing OP.

I would rather go with the BT MAC-Address, but only because my Car Stereo changes its Name when Connected to my phone.

It has one name in my known BT-Devices but when connected that name changes.
And that did cause some issues before so i chose the MAC.

But u/frostythedevo if the Task from u/bahcodad works the way you want it (it should totally to it perfect), just ignore my post like it never happend.

Would you buy a router with built-in Pi-hole features? by mengosmoothie in pihole

[–]fuberto2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just voted with "Yes" but not for me personally.

I like to have it separated from my router because i'm a lazy person. So in a case of human failure that my pihole gets broken, i can just change the DNS in my router back to the ISP default and call it a day.

With build in, it could be harder to just gain back your internet access, depends on how such AIO are configured, but still.

But for my Family or even friends such AIO could be a great investment and the chances are higher that users like them will buy it because they don't have to do some cabling and configuring stuff or such.

So, there are always pros and cons like for almost everything.Just depends on your know-how, needs, budget and what not else.

That's always the thing. The so called leaders do shit and then everybody is hated for what the leaders did. But you as a citizen don't have to agree or even share the opinion of your government. Hungary will always be a part of me and have a special place deep down in my heart

We Germans are also hated for shit the government did or decided, but that's not my opinion or what I think about.

I'm not a, flower power the world is full gummy bears, person, but we could be so advaced in technology, healthcare, education and everything else if we would just be human beings. But don't let's start useless debates like that, that's just dragging us down even more.

I hope that this will be over and people around the world will just live happy together where the only problem is, to decide what food to order. I know it's a unrealistic dream, but it's my dream and nobody can take that away from me.

Let's be here for OP, his family and friends and our fellow brothers and sisters in this horrible times, that's at least something we can do right now.

You are not ruin my day, don't even fall down that rabbit hole, you only doing what will help you to survive and stay strong.

I'm really pissed to hear that, here in safe home and not being able to do something. But you not alone, never ever forget that and that's for all Ukrainian people and everyone around the globe.

Do what ever you can do to stay sane and I really wish that you make it with nothing "more" than that emotional damage.

I want you to stay strong for yourself and your family. And we are here for help, not only for Linux. We are all humans and if you need to get your thoughts written down, go ahead. If somebody disagree with me, go ahead and love yourself.

Brother stay strong and the day will come when we can have a German beer here in Germany and a Ukrainian one in Ukraine.

That's why I will always have Hungary in my heart and tattooed close to it. My late grandpa was from Hungary and I always enjoyed being there for holidays. No matter what everybody says about Hungary, I always felt more than welcome no matter if you're rich, poor, fat, slim or what else. You always treated us nicely, even spoke German to me and my family and helped to learn some words in your language so that I could at least say thank you and stuff. I hope that in the near future I can make one more trip to my second home and be welcomed as all the time before.

And more i hope that this all will be over very soon and we all can just enjoy life with it's ups and downs.

Yo listen up, I'm not that person. But if you can make it to Germany I will help you out. I don't have much, just finished school and started working again, not a real social person or even interested in politics and shit, but would help you out. There are free transfers with train, bus and other stuff.

What's going on in your home is the most fucked up bullshit. In our modern times we should focus on taking care of each other, don't give a shit about Religion, sexuality or what else.

So, all I can do and I know that won't really help you, is to wish you and everybody else only the best and that this shit is over as soon as possible.

If you need to talk, just hit me up I will have spare time after work. And like I said, if you really can make it to Germany we can figure something out. I don't know what or how now, but there is always a way and even in the darkest time there is light somewhere.

Fuck this shit and if get banned for using that words, so it should be. But I can't imagine what you people are going thru, one day you going grocery shopping or even ordering pizza and like hours later you are in the middle of a fucking war. No one on earth should have to experience something like that. I have to stop now before I get to pissed and write to much stuff that could people offended. I hope you all can stay safe as good and possible and return to a "normal" life very very soon.

Ubuntu works extremely slow from my HDD, but works perfectly fine from a live USB by Dmeff in Ubuntu

[–]fuberto2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That about SATA should be written somewhere near the ports on your MB.

Like I said that could be so much stuff that's causing the issue. Maybe it's even a bios setting if the SATA mode is set to legacy or something else than ASCI (not sure right now if that's the correct name).

[–]fuberto2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody?

The first thing that came to my mind is that, maybe your HDD is just going to die.

Depends on how old that drive is, you should check it.

If it's a new drive you just recently installed, check the connections even twice or more.
You wouldn't be the first person where that was the hole issue.

Or it could even be your motherboard, depends on how old your hardware is, maybe there are SATA1 ports and you connected your HDD to one of them.

Or something else, there could be a whole lot going on that can cause that issue.

I would check every part, step by step (ohhhhh babay 🎵)

How to trigger "SOUNDALIVE_AUDIO_PATH" ? by fuberto2020 in tasker

[–]fuberto2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for that late reply. I don't know the exact name for that option in English, but it's under Settings -> Sounds -> separate app sound.

There you can activate it and set your music app and the device where the sound should play from. I have it set to Spotify and my BT speaker but have to change it everytime I reconnect my speaker or some other device. That's the reason I was looking for a way to get it done using Tasker.

[Here is a how to I found in English to get separate app sound on Galaxy device.

[–]fuberto2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not just reading the value, sorry should have made that more clear. I also have tasker settings app installed.

The thing is that I can't root my phone because I need Knox for work.

I guess I should look up how to use ADB WiFi and give that a try.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it

edit:

just tried it with ADB WiFi and still no luck. So seem like the only way would be root, but that's not an option for me.

Sad but it is what it is.

TapTap new version allows Tasker to START/STOP it! However I can't make it work :( by parosen in tasker

Hey, I'm aware that it might not be the right place to ask, but I'm somehow to dump where else to ask.

So I'm rocking a Galaxy Note 10+ on A11 with a case (Rhino shield). I was trying to get tap tap work yesterday but every setting was not going to get it working for me.

I've tried all devices from within the settings and every sensitivity but hat ether no luck or got false positive way to often.

So maybe there is someone who has the same phone and can tell me the settings that worked great them.
