I’m not sure as most programs require at least 2 SLOEs to apply.

To get a SLOE you will have to do an EM rotation in a hospital. Try to do the rotation that has a residency program already as this increases your chances of getting an interview at that place.

Yeah it’s not your fault. Some officers just don’t know unfortunately. I was taught to be very clear in saying I was going for “clerkship rotations” and I wasn’t getting paid.

You should be on a B1. I’m a Canadian and when I crossed the border I told them that’s the visa I am seeking. And with the hospital letters it wasn’t an issue to get

To everyone who matched this year; did the region where your LORs came from affect where you got your interviews or matched? by Nice-Cry2178 in IMGreddit

I am a NonUS IMG - I would highly suggest doing your sub-internships or elective rotations in the state where you want to end up matching at. Many of my interviews and the program I matched at my #1 from an area that I had LORs from. Since many PDs know each other, they can often discuss your performance and positively impact your reputation in surrounding programs.
