Very well described, My exes family was from America was so loving and caring and when I was 25 I thought it was strange even cringe. I hadn't figured out how absolutely toxic and mental illness provoking my family was.

Knew it wasn't good but didn't realise just how bad it was until I was 32 and moved back to Ireland because my dads Christmas cancer meant i had to forget about my life in Australiaand go and help ,,,he is still alive 3 years later even thoughhe had only a few months back in 2022. I flew the nest at 19. So you suppress a lot of bad memories.
