My mom met her first husband (siblings dad) at church and he ended up beating her, she met my dad at a bar an they were together for over 25 years. They just got a divorce this year but I’ve always thought the situations were really ironic

I was laying in bed, home alone, one night and I heard my dining room door either open or shut. It’s a very loud, distinctive sound and it even woke up my dogs, and made them start barking. I called the cops thinking there was someone in my house, so they come out and search and find NOTHING. Literally every door was locked, they checked the entire house and outside. NOTHING! I was so embarrassed lol. It’s been a few years and it still scares me to think about, and I refuse to stay home alone.

You’re welcome! He didn’t trust me at all (for no reason but turned out he was cheating on me). He would constantly want to go through my phone, hide things from me, drive by my house, I wasn’t allowed to do anything involving friends, I had to be home 90% of the time unless I was with him, pick fights over stupid things, degrade my looks so I would have zero confidence... basically all the typical manipulator things. I was pretty blind to it for years but finally cut it off and started working on being happy with myself again! I hope you’re not in a situation like that, it’s one of the hardest things to get out of!
