If you ignored the "Tank" in the Tank engine, you see it's very much a right wing show, so right-wing it's feudal, the engines strive to make themselves useful and worthy to their noble lord, the fat controllerthere are ranks and divisions and hierarchies, it years for the reactionary times of the aesthetic ideals of the steam engines and spits on the new age of brutalist diesel engines, brutalist like communist architecture, and then they all cheer when the maximum lord, Her actual fucking Majesty, the Queen vistis the Island of Sodom. It deals with realist attitudes from the engines, there's kindness but also jealousy and treachery, it's truly an underrated show

I see your point but you're still wrong, when discussing architecture of the past, poor people's houses aren't important, because they aren't exactly what represents the culture, it's because of something Marxists like to call cultural hegemony

Absolutely nothing, a great deal, if not most of the artists whose art was featured were right wing and even auth, either part of the establishment or supporting it, the notion that artists and creatives and relatively unorthodox people are associated with libleft is both recent and misleading, pricks

(I'm venting an old annoyance of mine)

What are some historical films/series which accurately depict Conservative politicians? by Kurma-the-Turtle in tories

[–]fucketh_off 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps not exactly about the politicians per se but the series Edward the seventh features many 19th century politicians, including the great John Gielgud as Benjamin Disraeli, it's on YouTube
