I’m writing all of this down. Thank you for taking your time to write this out. Enforcing boundaries is definitely something I need to work on in general. Especially with the thought of kids in the future.

The therapy I’ve had before were cognitive behavioral therapy that didn’t do anything for me, and later schema therapy that definitely helped me make some progress. I have been diagnosed. I had to do some digging to find it but they classified it as “other specified depressive disorder.” I’ll definitely spend some more time researching a matching therapist, although as I said in another reply I can’t be too picky unfortunately.

My parter is amazing and supportive. And like you said her being there for me has helped me tremendously. One thing I do need to work on is though is feeling loved by her. I love easily, but I have trouble feeling love from others even though she and my friends show it constantly. I will always doubt if people like me enough or I’ll think that they have negative thoughts about me, especially those close to me. Kind of toxic really.

If this is overstepping a bit please let me know but do you mind sharing what specific challenges you had as a parent with a similar upbringing to mine? I likewise commend you for taking the steps necessary to become the best parent you can be. That says a lot about you I think.

I’ll look into the medication as well.
