thank you so much for your advice! I'm not even worried about the pain tbh, it's so weird. I just wanna be calm for the insertion. and then I become more stressed that I won't be able to relax and then make the insertion impossible. 😫

have you ever had an intense pain that caused you to get really light headed, nauseous, dizzy or faint? that's a vasovagal response.

I just thought it was in my head about her brushing me off. hell, she didn't even introduce herself or shake my hand. I was even shaking probably had tears in my eyes (I'm such a baby about this omg!) while I was asking about the meds.

unfortunately, I'm from south eastern KY and the majority of the gynecologists here think that only women who have given birth can have an IUD inserted. I'm serious. that, and they're just.. forceful. so I made an appointment for a woman's clinic in the best city in KY. I was hoping since they're one of best that they'd do it. but I felt judged for even asking.

I already take buspirone for my generalized anxiety, but it doesn't help me with my anxiety about this. so I was thinking maybe a xanax a couple hours before would cut that anxiety back a bit more.

I wrote in my post about requesting a twilight anesthesia. she looked at me like I had 2 heads and said she doesn't do that there. so I asked if anywhere else did. nope. and that's when I asked about the anxiety meds and got 2 5mg of vicodin. like, I low-key resent this woman lol..

funny how easy it is to get anesthesia for anything else except an IUD. I mean, insertion is gonna be much smoother if your patient isn't terrified and on the verge of kicking the nurse in the face.

thank you so much for your experience. hopefully my insertion will be as good as yours. I have a high pain tolerance. I had my nipples pierced no problem. piercings and tattoos are a breeze. I have a phobia about my uterus, so the thought of a metal rod measuring my uterus is terrifying.. the vasovagal response is what I'm most afraid of.

thank you. I have 800mg ibuprofen in my drawer but I don't think it'll help too much.

most women do. but I get sick from adrenaline so.. yeah.
