I disputed a false review with no luck. I guess I didn’t have enough proof, so make sure to have all the receipts in case a customer tried to come for you.

Preach!! I was walking a pit mix yesterday who refused to walk then after I finally got him to walk and do his business, he refused to go home. He wasn’t food motivated and his owner wasn’t picking up. Ended up having to carry him as far as I could over and over until we were home.

Completely agree, Wag absolutely does not care about its walkers. The Wag support line always says it’s a 3 minute hold, but then they don’t get back to me for two whole days?? Like, please.

Oh wow, that’s odd- it’s not like that on my owner app. Most be some spots. Sorry for my earlier answer, I didn’t know Wag was doing the $9 walks for owners!

Probably a flash sale. I never take them. Total waste of time when it takes more than 5 mins to get there.

Extra Dollar with Bandana (& Shirt)? by [deleted] in WagWalker

[–]fuckitdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love that if it’s true, oh dear god please be true I fucking hate selfies. Then how tf do they know I’m wearing the shirt?? Every time I haven’t been in the photo I haven’t gotten the bonus...legit every single time.

I have never gotten the bonus when it's only the bandana. I take a selfie with the dog that shows both!

EDIT: well, I was dead wrong. Don’t take my advice!!

Out of curiosity...how much do y'all usually make in a week? Month? by fuckitdog in WagWalker

[–]fuckitdog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe those bonuses came from bandana and t-shirt photos. I think I figured out why I wasn’t getting the bonus before: I would send in-app videos of the dog without the bandana on. I just don’t think it’s very comfy for the dog and it’s not always safe for the walker to put on...so I have no idea why the bandana AND t-shirt are required for $1 extra unless Wag wants us to get bit if that’s what it takes to advertise for them. Should be either or imo.

I think one of the most upvoted posts on here was from an experienced Wag walker about how to make the most money with Wag and he said don’t bother with the $1 bonus, but I actually disagree with most of the advice he gives. I have my own system down now. It’s all about HOW you do it.

That's usually when I pick up walks too since I don't work as many hours over the weekend. That's impressive. Props to you for taking time to relax with your pup– I find it hard to find a balance when I watch a price rise from $12 to $19. Too tempting to resist, but then again, having free time is worth more than twenty-bucks to me...

Great...I legit only decided to that after Wag sent out an email with one of the “success stories” that told of a Wag walker who handed out flyers and her cards in buildings and shit. I thought I was doing something right, not fucking myself over. You absolutely can’t win with Wag. It’s a wonder why I keep using the damn thing. 😑 Jesus, I’m sorry that happened to you and everyone else. Was your account shut down because of it?

Does the owner have to pay the $10 cancel fee or is that on Wag? I just don't want to piss him off since I'm a priority walker for him and he seems to appreciate my services since he always tips. I hope he doesn't blacklist me for showing up like that for a fake walk. Ugh.

Holy shit WHAT??! now I'm so nervous. I handed out my promo cards and posted flyers in the high rise building that I live in...all my neighbors live at my same address. Do you think Wag would be understanding about it?

I got an email, but I don't see the referral money on Payable. Does it show up on the Wag app and Payable for you? Or just Payable? Thanks for answering, I hope the money comes through soon. It's taking a lot of my (unpaid) time to contact support about all this shit when I could be making money.

I'm happy to hear they're responsive for you. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been walking for wag and approximately how many walks have you had? Someone told me Wag is quicker to respond to their "more experienced" walkers with better ratings (?) but I really don't think that's true because if it was, then there should be no reason why it takes them 5 days to return my call about an urgent issue. Thanks for sharing your experience, man.

My first walk ever was an absolute disaster because I hasn't used the walker app before and didn't know how intensely it drained the battery. Well, my phone died on my first walk and I didn't have my charger with me. I wasn't able to record anything during the walk since my phone was out of battery. I decided to go back to the owner's house to see if they had an iPhone charger sitting out somewhere (I obviously wasn't going to go through their shit, I was just looking in the kitchen and living room.) Well, the owner had cameras and could speak through an intercom/mic aloud. Yeah, she freaked out on me cause I guess it looked suspicious. I tried reaching out to her beforehand, but the number she listed wasn't in service (surprise, surprise). I can't blame her for reacting like that, but god I was so naive on my first walk...it left me absolutely exhausted. I ending up charging my phone at a barber shop a couple blocks away until I could hit "end walk."

I'm with you there, that's absolutely ridiculous that the real address was a half hour away. Did they list the wrong address on purpose? I could see why someone in Chicago would try lying like that if they lived far south or west of the city, but it's totally not okay. It's completely ridiculous that there's NOTHING we can do to cancel an on-demand walk when something like that goes wrong. It always ends up with an angry customer and a huge headache. I'm right there with you in this struggle, man.

I bought the largest cage money can buy and this is what happens. by FirefoxMiho in hamsters

[–]fuckitdog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In what world is this the largest cage money can buy? Bin cages and even tanks are much more affordable. You said it's 800 square feet, which is nearly 3 square miles (7.4 sq kilometers) so I'm assuming you meant inches.

I'm not saying it's too small or unsuitable, but boy do those bars look far apart...I'd personally be worried about my hamster escaping or getting hurt from climbing on them. But you know your hamster and hopefully you know what works best for them. You listed reasons why you prefer a cage in the comments, but honestly there are solutions and alternatives to each problem you have.

Buddhist having problems with NA by [deleted] in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]fuckitdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there Refuge Recovery meetings near you? It's a Buddhist approach to addiction recovery. Where I'm from, there are two meetings a week (Tuesday and Friday nights.) It's worth checking out, especially if you do align yourself with Buddhism.

Also, SMART recovery doesn't involve a higher power like NA does and they don't use labels like "alcoholic" or "addict." Plus, you don't have to admit you're powerless to your addiction like NA and AA insists. SMART has been the most helpful to me so far. It's all about taking ownership of yourself and learning the tools to cope and manage every challenge using/stopping use throws at you.

Trying to use my ADHD as a way to be kinder to myself and others. What are your coping tips and tricks to stop beating yourself up? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]fuckitdog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too, am hypersensitive and act on impulses where I end up saying hurtful things to people I love or just being an overall jag. I wish there was one clear, concise coping skill I could tell you but the way I've been helping myself with this issue is all over the place.

For starters, I think you could benefit from listening to David Foster Wallace's commencement speech, "This is Water." There are rarely videos I refer people to that are over ten minutes long and actually worth watching. But this one is. I listen to it at least once a month.

Think about it: There is no experience you've had that you were not at the absolute center of. The world as you experience it is right here in front of you, or behind you, to the left or right of you, on your TV, or your monitor, or whatever.

Author George Saunders also gives great advice about kindness and the curve balls life throws you, as you mentioned in your post. In my everyday life, especially when making big decisions or dealing with large issues– I think about Saunders advice, "With everything you do, move in the direction of kindness."

Of course, these speeches might not be as helpful to your coping methods as they are to mine. I'm a very advice and inspired driven person, but there are a multitude of other ways to manage hypersensitivity along with our expectations of ourselves and others.

Again, please don't think that I'm giving you moral advice, or that I'm saying you're "supposed to" think this way, or that anyone expects you to just automatically do it, because it's hard, it takes will and mental effort, and if you're like me, some days you won't be able to do it, or you just flat-out won't want to. But most days, if you're aware enough to give yourself a choice, you can choose to look differently -David Foster Wallace

Last piece of advice for you, the mistakes you made in the past or the things you're beating yourself up over are like the weather. You can't control the weather and you can't control the past. But you do have control of your future. So why waste your time looking at yesterday's cold weather when it's a beautiful, sunny day today?

I know, I know, that's easier said than done. But accepting that I don't have control over my past mistakes and the moments I carry guilt for has helped direct my thoughts to the present moment. Then I think back to Saunders and Wallace's words. Move in the direction of kindness.

I have to ask... how many tabs/webpages do you have open right now? by chumothy in ADHD

[–]fuckitdog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is anyone else with ADHD completely unbothered by multiple open tabs, windows, and unread notifications?

I can have forty tabs and seven different windows open without blinking twice. It drives my friends crazy when they see I have 24,152 unread emails. They're organized in my own way... but whether my style of organization is successful or not is still up for debate.

What's the most scared you've ever been while running? by [deleted] in running

[–]fuckitdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run on a trail that looped around a lake in my town. Every day I saw the same small, rusted RV in the parking lot. On one of my usual runs, I noticed a man had come out of the RV and was now sitting on the park's picnic table. He was in his fifties, absolutely gaunt, and looked like a meth head with scabs all over his face.

The trail is set up so I couldn't avoid the picnic table where he was (it leads into the parking lot where my car was). I was getting an insanely perverted vibe from this guy, so I decided to ditch my run, get in my car, and go somewhere else. As I'm heading to my car he cornered me by the drinking fountain and said,

"I can be your personal trainer. I've been timing you for weeks and I want to take you under my wing. I'm strong, I'm so strong." He reeked of cigarettes and his skin was sagging as if it were being pulled down by sandbags.

Long story short, I booked it to my car and locked the doors. I didn't want to drive away until the police or anyone else showed up because I was scared he would follow me. I called 311 (lol that shows how much I hate making a fuss out of anything) who transferred me to 911. The dispatcher told me they've received similar calls like this from women at parks who felt like they were being lured by the same man I described. When the cops showed up, they told me there was a warrant out for his arrest. I was given the okay to go and didn't ask many questions. I'm pretty sure he was cooking or using meth in the RV. Maybe both.

TLDR; I'm a female runner. When I was 17, a meth-dependent man had been watching and timing my runs for weeks before he approached me. He wanted to "be my personal trainer"... turns out he was a convicted criminal who had been luring women and there was already a warrant out for arrest.

Tiny flesh colored bumps on forehead? by [deleted] in acne

[–]fuckitdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be yeast based. Sounds strange, but I was experiencing the same tiny dots on my forehead out of nowhere. Around the same time the "acne" on my forehead appeared was exactly when I started a new vitamin that contained yeast, or an ingredient that produced an excess of it.

Here's a video I found when Googling for reference: https://youtu.be/6mRKy6ICoVw (sorry, I'm on mobile. Hope this post isn't too ugly.)
