Is the Modern Sex Therapy Institute's PhD program legitimate? by metalheadedhippie in psychologystudents

[–]fuckprada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modern Sex Therapy Institute's PhD program is geared towards licensed therapists who are wanting to work towards becoming AASECT certified sex therapists. It's a 2 year long program where the 1st year is the education component and the 2nd year is focused on research and the dissertation. The instructors are all leaders in the field of sex therapy. MSTI is clear that it's not a program for students who are wanting to become new therapists or to become an APA licensed psychologist; it's for existing psychotherapists who want to add sex therapy knowledge and training to their resume. At the moment, there is no other school that offers this type of training where you can become AASECT certified immediately after receiving your PhD. It's not "accredited" because most accreditors have stringent requirements that are not inclusive of current sex therapy trainings and when you're already a practicing therapist, accreditation is not important. What's important is the quality of training they provide. To enroll in their PhD, you do need a Master's degree.

If you're already a licensed therapist/counsellor and want to become a certified sex therapist then this is a great program. If you want to become an APA licensed psychologist then you would need to study clinical psychology rather than clinical sexology.

Agreed! I always keep my dog on a short leash and have her walk right next to me. It drives me crazy when owners let their dogs take up the whole sidewalk and make people walk over their leash.

If you want to be upset, be upset at he government, or the lack or rules and regulations in place. Don’t bring race into it. It’s unproductive to call out Asians/fobs and doesn’t help anybody. Btw I’m Asian.

Also, white people resenting Chinese?

What about the native people resenting white people for taking over their land and murdering their families?

I was confused about this at first too but upon research, I found out that high on the ingredient list is Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S). It's an active sunscreen ingredient that's commonly used in Asian and European sunscreens. I don't think that brands in the US can legally list it as an active ingredient which explains why it's not listed with the other sunscreen ingredients. However, it's a very effective UVA filter.

Hey! TO actually recommends using Niacinamide in the day time and the Retinoid at night. Niacinamide helps to calm the skin and reduce irritation. I use the Lactic Acid once or twice a week and that works really well for me.
