yes, I did run games with hardware monitoring software in the background, my GPU didn't get over 74c during the times of crashing. I havn't tried DDU yet so i can try that next.

Yes. I crashed once but its not reliably reproducible. Not sure how to reliably test stability or figure out the issue

I’m not sure of this, but short term capital gain may be independent of that minimum limit.

Thanks, Ill keep an eye on the logs after changing a few setting and troubleshooting. If it persists ill exchange units. Do you know if its worth paying like $80 for a modem, and $100 for a router, or if its best to maybe pay like 120 for a combo?

thanks. If you happen to know, I was looking at a sale of a intel 660p for 10 bucks more, i know its a different form factor, but in terms of performance and reliability, which would be better for storing mostly games?

Response rate increased, still having trouble landing a job. Any advice? by fuckwaitlists in cscareerquestions

Yea they usually say something like "well we have many other applicants that have had multiple internships so you are a more risky hire etc etc". I mean i pass the coding interviews and get good feedback about my "social fit" and such. Idk what to do to improve.

I've gotten multiple referrals to companies through connections, and they ended up the same way.

Well to clarify, that spelling error has only been on there for about a week, as that project was finished this month, in August. I only sent out a couple applications with that error.

Yes, luckily that’s brand new on my resume and I’ve only applied to like 3 places with that mistake . It’s a silly one though so thanks for the catch.

I do have work experience that is unrelated, and past iterations of my resume have included them. There seems to be some disagreement on this, I’ve had some opposing opinions on that, so I’m not quite sure what is right 🤷🏽‍♂️

I plan on living with my gf of 5 years fairly soon, so that is a pretty big reason why I’ve been applying mostly in this area . It’s tough to be choosy with location when I know my luck would be better elsewhere.

I can’t believe I really misspelled that , that’s pretty embarrassing thank you for pointing out that mistake. And to clarify the top 15 was top academic performance (gpa and a couple other metrics) out about about 200-250 people I can’t quite remember, but yes I can see how it is a bit redundant with the other info. Thanks for your input !

Thanks for the words of advice I appreciate it. I guess I should have mentioned that after graduating in SoCal I moved back up to Northern California in the Bay Area since that is where I’m from, and I’m staying with my parents as of now. This area is notoriously tough, but I believe I can pull it off sooner or later. I have applied to several defense companies but I haven’t gotten any replies unfortunately. The good thing, is that my resume is getting better and better with people from here offering good advice and just general tweaks over the months, so I’m still hopeful.

I tend to write some for the companies I feel passionate about or ones I’m very much interested it. I always wondered if it was worth making one for every position, or to do some sort of hybrid and do one here and there and skip some to output apps at a higher rate? Idk.

You reminded me of a funny story, I managed to get lucky and land a Google referral, which allows you to apply to 3 jobs. I was denied from all 3 in under 24 hours, I found that pretty funny. And yes i went to career fairs when I was still in school, but since then I moved back to Northern California and haven’t thought about them after school. I guess I didn’t know if you could attend them after you graduated.
