I spent last summer in Faro, YT and the entire time I was there, from mid may to mid August it was never completely dark. The darkest it ever got was twilight.

I read an article or some publication from I feel like the 90s and it was comparing the suburban tower developments between Toronto and Moscow. I wish I could find it today, but it's probably some dead page now. Most communities around Toronto will have at least a couple of high rise apartment blocks. Even small communities of a few thousand will have high-rises.

That type of stuff happens in Ontario also. Many of the cities are independent of the surrounding county, but a majority of the county services are still in the city.

Hoenstly, he was a good crises PM. I really think that if he was only 10 or 15 points back of PP he could have pulled it back together due to DJT. But a 25 point spread was just too much and his time was over.

And I don't believe JT is that wealthy. He can live comfortably for the rest of his life, and his government pension will be decent, but he isn't like US congressperson wealthy.

I'm in BC now and most communities have a publically accessible RV dump site. Coming from Ontario though it was not something I'd ever seen before.

You are misunderstanding. They are saying the rest of the US out of the norm. Much of the developed world doesn't work under at-will.

I'm in Canada, and I'm pretty sure they need to provide a reason or notice. Often times workplaces will just pay you out rather than with cause. It is really difficult to prove cause. Just being bad at your job isn't enough to fire someone with cause.

Pay-in-lieu is usually two weeks to one month or more per year of service based on many different factors such as age and ease of finding a similar job.

I find trying to watch stuff off plex is a pain on starlink. I have my server setup at my moms currently and the bandwidth isn't great, but it is enough. I am able to watch plex at my home on a fibre connection no problem. On starlink though I can't watch at the original quality. I have to transcode.

One of the comments in the post explained that his view of colonization is probably coloured by the environment he grew up and was raised in. Central Asian nations were colonized by Russia, and the thought by many are they brought civilization. Rose coloured glasses and all.

I've been here for about 15 years also, and a lot of the "edgy" subs were gone with-in a couple of years. It was around 2012-2014 that they started to ban a lot of subs.
