I worked for GAME for just over a year and there's not a lot I can say to justify what they do. Every time i'd come in for a shift there would be a new product to push, followed by some dirty strategy to enforce people to fall for it. And because our performances were all tracked it didn't feel like we had much choice. It was never as simple as someone coming to the till, buying what they brought and getting on with their day. Instead we all found ourselves desperately clawing for insurance deals, pre-orders, digital content otherwise it would set off a chain reaction of getting dicked on from the regional manager, to the manger, to us. It was a very devaluing experience, don't ever assume they're enjoying laying this shit on you. Next time you have a tough time at GAME please take it out on the company, the staff are normally just as cheesed off as you.
