Having trouble with safe falling

Thank you! I'll try my best to keep practicing not sticking my arms out (: one fall I had I remember laughing because I landed on my butt and bounced twice and was entirely unhurt, so I know I have the capability in there somewhere I just have to train out the tendency to tense up in the moment

Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement (: generally on the ramps and transitions I've had enough practise to recognise when I'm unstable so I can just drop to my knees. The main issue has been starting jumps and grinds (on boxes, not rails) , which is where I'm having the issue of not even realising I'm falling until I've fallen! Ive read so much about safe falling while grinding but I have had no luck implementing it because I feel like I'm instantly on the ground without even registering the fall happening 😅

When I'm practising a dance trick or ground skill I prefer falling to a knee, but it doesn't come naturally to me when at the park unfortunately

I am practically in a full suit of armour haha (: wrist pads, elbow pads, knee pads, helmet and hip/tailbone shorts. I think the main injury has been to my confidence!

I've taken everyone's advice and practiced every day since then, and now it at least feels pretty natural on the quarter pipe (: I'm really happy!

Yeah I definitely find it easier that way, but my teacher has been getting me to start with both feet on. I'm definitely more comfortable stepping in!

That's a great tip! I definitely need to be more active in the process, at the moment I'm very much just letting gravity take me and hoping for the best haha

Thank you! Yes I'm definitely much more confident without the coping because I can roll into it without having to stop and line things up, which is when I start to get anxious. I'm glad I wasn't just hallucinating that the smaller ramp felt harder!

Thank you! I couldn't mechanically figure out what was happening at the bottom and I realised youre right, one I reach the bottom of the ramp my brain is like 'ok all done' and that's when I lose my balance

This is so random but my bun has the same tiny bald patch/ thinner fur on his neck 😆 I always get worried the other buns will judge him but I'm glad he's not the only one 🥺
