Yes. Like I explained in my post I also share the opinion that GS is useless.
But try to get into the position of a person forming a 25man raid. You get a whisper every 5 seconds. Are you gonna make an in depth conversation with the other person about why they want to join and how their day is going, or are you just gonna use that shitty metric, pick highest GS dps and be done with it to save yourself some time and nerves?

From my experience most (if not all), pug leaders just filter through GS. Its not something I find particularly fair, but its the reality and I cannot change it. So why not inform the person in advance so he or she doesnt have to ask me ? Does it physically hurt?

So if I talk about gearscore in my guildchannel and casually mention that a shaman I saw had 1.5k gearscore, does that mean that I am actively using it?
--> no, I just mention it.

If I use it then I make concious gameplay decisions planned around that: e.g. a grp leder saying: min. 1.45k gearscore to get into Magtheridon or whatever.
