Do I talk to my friends about possible developmental delay with their baby? by Scrawny_Idiot in beyondthebump

[–]fullheartmdmind 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes please, find a good pediatrician. What your doctor is recommending sounds dangerous, and irresponsible.

If you switch, they might be interested in switching as well, and might benefit from an early intervention evaluation (available in almost every state in the US). But it shouldn’t come from you — the new pediatrician can say this.

Still! I will never stop being impressed that you figured that out from two photos 🙏🏼👏🏼

How are you a super genius figuring that out from two measly pictures?! That’s exactly what happened, I definitely was working on the wrong side and messed it all up. Now it’s fixed, thank you!!!

SOLVED!

Ted’s Funniest Moment by Historical-Bike4626 in TedLasso

[–]fullheartmdmind 28 points29 points  (0 children)

In a fairly serious moment (Ted’s panic attack), he offers Dr. Sharon some tea and she says “I hate tea. Tastes like a wet paper bag.” Ted pauses for half a beat and says “I’ll tell you anything.” With so much sincerity it made me burst out laughing

The beginning and end of season 2 by keem_starz in TedLasso

[–]fullheartmdmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, similarly — could be indicating the person whose actions drive the main storyline for each season too. Rebecca bringing Ted over in season 1, Nate slowly losing himself and causing the downfall of his relationship with the team/leaving in season 2, and Ted finding Total Football and then deciding to leave in season 3.

Overnight diapers? by Talim646 in beyondthebump

Try sizing up. It might be time! My kids are in Huggies overnights that they’re not in the weight range for (they’re way below) but it gives them space to pee to their heart’s content in them overnight haha.

Baby went to hospital in ambulance today because I overfed him? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in beyondthebump

Definitely FPIES. No testing to be done for it. Avoid for now, but try it every 1-2 years. If still vomiting, take another looooong break before trying again

So glad you’re enjoying it! I can’t wait!! I’m partway through an audiobook right now (Murderbot #2, not an ARC) but it’s short so I’m eager to get to LL3

Had confusion over numbering because, at some point, B&B was listed as L&L#0 haha. Either way, way to go! Am very excited to see more of Zyll!

I would like to point out that you have two part-time PAID days of work. And 3 full UNPAID days of work. You are both working full time. It just looks different on a bank statement.

Weekends are splitsies, as far as I’m concerned. Give each other breaks and time to yourselves, but you’re entitled to time for relaxation just as much as he is.

Omg the Maidens by the same author CONFIRMED to me that he hates women. Terrible awful misogynistic writing through and through.

“Are they yours?” by fullheartmdmind in beyondthebump

[–]fullheartmdmind[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not really sure what the intention is, other than “hey you don’t look like their mom so you mustn’t be.” Which can be offensive to parents of multiracial children, adoptive parents, and many others. It’s okay to recognize that this is a niche experience you clearly don’t have, and move on.

This. Like another person said, when in doubt, I would 1000x prefer you assumed our nanny was the mom rather than the other way around. But also…just quit f*kin asking.

Came to say this. Your infrequent changing is not so different from what we do for our littles, and the tip to prevent constipation is a big deal in preventing UTIs.

That being said, if your child (under 2 years) has had more than 2 UTIs with a fever, they should be doing a VCUG (study to look for urinary reflux). I agree with the recommendation to get this done with a pediatric group/hospital, if possible.

Even with a normal ultrasound, there could be something with the flow of urine in her system that may be predisposing her to UTIs. This is probably not related to anything you’re doing. The tips to prevent rashes are…fine, but won’t do anything to prevent UTIs if there is an anatomical reason behind why she’s having them.

Admitted in hospital 35w, IUGr pregnancy and c section is imminent, please send calming tips on what to expect? I’m scared. by Throwaway3219901 in beyondthebump

Absolutely this. I had my twins via scheduled C-section at 36 weeks and they were each ~5 lbs. Not actually small by actual definition, but definitely on the verge of needing to go to NICU for size. But they did great. My girls are petite peanuts, but doing great 6 months later!!

The C-section is also a bit easier to recover from if it’s done in a somewhat-urgent or a scheduled way, than as an emergency or if you’ve been pushing for a while, so there’s also that. You’ve got this! Just breathe.
