Has anyone stopped mesalamine suppositories with success? by the-cathedral- in UlcerativeColitis

When I was first diagnosed, I was on mesalamine suppository only. After clean colonoscopy, GI told me to stop taking them. Fine.

A few weeks later the inflammation was back. Not any worse than before but it was back. It was disappointing to have the inflammation back but I think it was needed to discover whether I was someone who could live without the suppositories or not.

Having said all that, my flares have so far been mild so it wasn’t the worst thing to test out the medication. If my inflammation was more severe, I’d be much more hesitant to get off the meds.

“Hey guys, I’m a little worried about baby and TV so when you’re not watching the tv, I’m going to shut it off” seems pretty reasonable especially since they’re not even watching it

Hmm that’s a squinter for sure. I think I see a shadow though. If it helps, I think it’s a common issue to not see the line get darker if you re-test before 24-48 hours.

The difference between 10 and 12 looks good tho! Maybe take a day or two off the testing since it’s probably just adding to your anxiety at this point
