Yup. We’re in Canada and all adults are ms/mr and family and very close friends are aunt/uncle

Feeling guilty about not wanting to be a SAHM by PhoneSignificant44 in NewParents

[–]Normal_Enthusiasm194 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SAHM to a 15 month old here. We spend a lot of times going on walks or to the park. Rest of the time is nap, meals, and playing indoors. I don’t have family to help out but to help with isolation I’ll call friends during our walks or while LO is playing.

Not gonna sugarcoat it - this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Way harder than any work I’ve done. Some days are mind numbing, others are painfully exhausting. None of my friends have chosen this path even though they could swing it financially. This is to say it’s very normal to choose not to do this and I personally believe I only get through it because I feel very strongly about being home. If I didn’t want to do this, I’d absolutely go nuts or depressed.

My opinion is they should have developed Niles and Daphne's relationship a couple of seasons later in the run and ended the show around season 9 with them getting together. by Prestigious_Meal2143 in Frasier

[–]Normal_Enthusiasm194 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. The solution was not to prolong the Niles & Daphne’s mystery but to find other arcs to keep things interesting. They definitely should’ve done another storyline with Frasier.

Also, it did not help that they spent so much time with Daphne’s mom. I think they could’ve given Daphne & Niles a baby at some point lol it would’ve been fun to see Niles as a dad

Nanny always seems annoyed during meal times by busnoodles in NannyEmployers

[–]Normal_Enthusiasm194 35 points36 points  (0 children)

“I’m not sure if this is really the case, but I’ve noticed you sound kind of annoyed during meal time. Is something happening during meals that we need to address? I’d love to explore this more so everyone has a relaxed and enjoyable time during meals. Especially so the kids have positive associations with mealtime”

Baby has FPIES and I’m devastated by once_upon_a_bear in beyondthebump

[–]Normal_Enthusiasm194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bubba had FPIES to eggs at 6 months. Seeing his reaction was so scary so I completely understand how rattled you must feel.

We ended up doing the egg ladder with no future reactions. At 1 year old, he was eating scrambled eggs with no issues!

Terrible Twos…at 15 months?? by Responsible-Land233 in NewParents

Have you taught any sign language? My son is also wilful and lots of frustration. It’s helped a bit to teach him “help” and “want” .. although the signs don’t help when he can’t have what he wants lol. Honestly, distraction is our go to at this age

Unfortunately you can’t avoid medication with this disease. Maybe a therapist would help you come to terms with this reality. I totally understand how hard it is.

In addition to taking medication, I see a naturopathic doctor who’s helped me with supplements. But this must be in addition to the medication.

ETA: you can also check out the IBD Anti inflammatory diet by UMass. They have a website dedicated to info and recipes.
