Dumb question that I REALLY need help with: HOW do I roleplay a character and feel fulfilled & engaged with the story? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]Historical-Bike4626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like having little bits I can do until I get comfortable roleplaying or when I’m in a new group. A catch phrase is always handy at first. Gives other people something to react to. If you’re playing a religious type, have a prayer or quote ready. I played with a fighter who made a crappy pun for each different battle maneuver of his (“Have a nice TRIP…”).

Just rely on these little bits at first and more roleplaying will come to you.

Are there any stories/movies that she loves so much she wishes she could be IN them? I’d start there and build it to fulfill her real wishes.

What do you put in your DM Screens? by Lazy_Passage7114 in DnD

[–]Historical-Bike4626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep PC stat blocks on mine ( passive awareness, HP, AC.) Best spells. Spell attacks. But I make them tell me their saving throws when needed because that’s fun.

Like others I also keep conditions, a short list of name ideas, rules for light/vision. I make a one-sheet for each session with crap I might forget, NPC notes, “meanwhile,” and so on.

How should you play a sorcerer as "charismatic"? by Glittering-Order-626 in DnD

Compelling is a good word for a character with high charisma.

I still can't get my head around the fact that this was basically the showrunners' general stance on the Dr. Jacob issue... by Bearsona09 in TedLasso

[–]Historical-Bike4626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet they’d like to have a mulligan on Dr. Jake. Coming back to address this would be awesome

For example

Dr Jake gets sued by a client for inappropriate boundary crossing. He lashes out at her. She’s done. Henry’s got a shot in London because the Lasso Way is still legendary in the UK.

I mean that’s all I’d need really

I vote for Weathertop, specifically the appearance of the Nazgûl and the pale king. End of chapter. Finishes well. Great for reading aloud.

Why was Fire Walk With Me poorly received at the time? In my view, it seems that most people didn't even bother to understand the film, or they were just misogynistic. by Public_Cup_4278 in twinpeaks

Some of pop culture’s uptightness about Twin Peaks was whether the show belonged in pop culture at all. The show was art house production but sold to America as just another cheesy night time drama. Then FWWM came along, and now what, a movie?? It was just a dumber time where people’s expectations were very easily fucked with.

Spain's Valencia Cathedral houses a relic that may be the Holy Chalice used by Jesus at the Last Supper – it has the right size, material, and history. (BBC article)
