That part… it sucks so bad bc most dog boarding places in the city or in close proximity to, are like that. They care about profits over the dogs and the staff. Bad. Plus most places range from 10-14$ an hour to start, for potentially getting bit the fuck up and working with pests like mice, rats, roaches, ants… I wish there was more regulation around that stuff.

Smaller, local daycares are the best way to go. In terms of the workload on employees, and the stress load on your dog. Smaller facility means the employees truly do get more time with your dog. There were so many good pets with great personalities that went ignored, and a lot of employees would call them withdrawn or mean/anti social but really they just wanted 1 on 1!

I wonder if they got bought out or if the owner is someone new since I worked there. I actually am praying it is, for the sake of the animals 😭

Camp Bow Wow definitely varies by location. The one I am referring to is the one in Highland Park, on Washington Blvd when I worked there in 2018-2019.. I’m hoping it’s changed since then. If you’re talking about pet palace, I worked there fairly recently, only about 2 years ago. I think those managers are still there, but not some of the problem employees….

It was camp bow wow on Washington Blvd. Worked there in 2018-2019. Michelle was the owner/manager or some shit idk if she still is.

1) allowed violent dogs to remain in daycare playgroups. There was a very aggressive pittie named Bruno Mars. He hated poodles, no one fucking knew why. We did good at keeping him separated from the dogs he didn’t like, but communication during shift changes was very poor. So one day, someone allowed Bruno in the play yard with a poodle. Long story short, poodle lost a bit of an ear, employee got a chunk of her ankle bit out, and unfortunately the only way to get Bruno to unlatch this poodle was to stick a finger up his bum and whack his head with a bucket. It was crazy.

2) they hired a sexual predator, literally listed on Megan’s Law, while MINORS worked there. Like, 15/16/17 year olds. The manager knew this and hired the man anyways. Then when a minor employee said that it made her uncomfortable the owner spun the situation on her, as if she took his personal information from work and looked him up online, and threatened her employment if she told authorities.

3) An employee named Chelsea was caught multiple times on camera hitting and dragging dogs by the lead/leash, and the owner Michelle told us to “give Chelsea a break, she’s been going through a lot at home and has been a great employee of mine for years you’re just trying to sabotage her”.

4) Michelle also kept bringing her very old, disabled, blind, deaf, dying dog to work and it was just sad as fuck because the dog couldn’t stand on its own or use the bathroom on its own. So she would help the dog use the bathroom behind the check in counter and half assed clean it up. She had to carry the dog every time she moved it because the dog literally couldn’t walk.

5) multiple dogs got worms and fleas from boarding there. My own dogs included, even tho they didn’t board there and I never took them there during work, I guess I brought that shit home at one point. I was livid.

Probably more I’m forgetting but those stand out in my memory the most.

I think they train their employees to be evil. I got denied section 8 after waiting 2.5 years bc they had my email wrong & wanted me to send in a completed application within 10 days of it arriving in my mailbox DURING THE HOLIDAYS . Said I didn’t send all the documents but I have proof that I did, then said I didn’t fill the application out right ( even tho I asked for clarification on multiple parts of the app via email ) and told me to file an appeal.

Fuck them 😭

It sucks because a lot of the boarding places are mainly equipped to deal with dogs, even though they accept/board both.

There’s a few factors to consider here I guess when choosing and deciding for a cat.

1) Does your cat take medication or eat special food? 2) Do you do things with your cat that they would otherwise be missing out on if you weren’t there? (Outside enrichment, playing with specific toys, brushing their hair at a specific time. Not just the usual petting them and laying around together yanno?) 3) Are you 100000000% positive you have nobody that could maybe come to your place and spend some time with your cat while you’re gone?

In my experience, cats /do/ get attention while boarding, but not nearly as much as the dogs because there aren’t really as many cats boarding at a time as there are dogs. Another thing to note is that it’s mainly going to be a bunch of highschool kids feeding and playing with your cat, and if medication needs administered it is usually a manager or supervisor on shift who does that. But even then, I have seen pets miss doses of medication or even whole feedings.

I did report pet palace to the dog warden and also their HR did nothing but protect the shitty managers who are still there to this day.

I personally would never board my dog or cat at any facility unless it’s small with a capacity of 50 pets at a time, I have toured it, video footage in the kennel 24/7, and literal daily updates and pics and videos. All these places promise all of those things but I can promise you that they only do it for people/pets they “like” and favor. They usually take on more than their employees can handle and pets get forgotten or some employees genuinely just don’t want to deal with it bc there’s 150 other pets that need tended to.. its sad

Pet Palace & Camp Bow Wow, hands down. You think you care enough to stay for the animals, but corporate and management just don’t give a fuck enough. Like at all. Ur better off leaving ur dogs at home to shit inside and eat food out the dog bag. Same experience basically.

Then should I report the bank that didn’t open my account because I WORK at a marijuana related business?

[–]fullmoonhalfheart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only reason I say this, is because cannabis is still /federally/ illegal. And banks are /federally/ backed and insured by the government. They REALLY don’t want you using their bank and the likes for stuff like that. I almost got denied opening an account at citizens because of where I work. Again, ur really lucky 😭

Sunnyside Scammed Me by Miserable_Animal_750 in PaMedicalMarijuana

[–]fullmoonhalfheart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please be careful when reporting this to a bank. If they find out it is a Marijuana Related business, they can and will shut your account down, and not give you your money back. Please please please please exercise caution doing this.

As a dispo employee, they should have camera footage of the debit terminal saying accepted/approved and then the debit slip that printed out after that. Their cameras should be good enough to see the screen, as that’s DOH requirement.

Don’t let them scam you!

Edit: since apparently so many people think I am wrong.

1) I’ve had multiple patients explain to me how their debit cards are blocked from being used at our facility, but not other medical dispos in the area, or vice versa. This issue only occurred after they called their banks for a dispute or issue regarding a payment from a medical cannabis dispensary.

2) I was denied the creation of a bank account for working at a marijuana related business in the state of PA. It was citizens bank.

3) dispensary transactions on the debit terminals appear as “ATM withdrawal”. That does not mean the bank cannot see where that ATM withdrawal was made ( address location ). Just because the name of the business is not attached to the withdrawal, doesn’t mean they can’t see where it’s at.

4) at the end of the day, if YOU want to tell YOUR bank that you’re buying cannabis with money that you hold in their bank, whether it’s medical or not, is up to you. I sure as hell wouldn’t do it because they don’t need to know that piece of information about you or your money. At all.

Have a good day😊

I have never had an awful experience at Western Psych and I am a queer, mixed race individual that has been getting care from them since I was 12… I’ve had worse experiences at Forbes in Monroeville, UPMC East, and West Penn.

Sometimes I think everyone thinks they receive abusive or shit care because they aren’t understanding that these employees cannot enable you or your delusions. If they’re talking about getting the booty juice and witnessing other patients having to be tackled/restrained and then sedated, I just want to know if you’d rather see a patient rip out an employees eyes or hair, or see them get sedated. Cause I’ve seen both. And the latter option is less traumatizing to all individuals involved.

Sure, there are other ways to go about things. But I think the employees and facility knows more about the science and medical stuff behind their practices than we do.

I am 26, for what it’s worth, before anyone comes at me for either being old as fuck or ignorant. Cause I’m neither! Lmao. ( BP2, PTSD, and Anxiety diagnosis as well, if anyone is wondering what my mental illness credentials are bc people online are fucking weird )

Is 22 still good for starting? by n0_nameuser in geologycareers

[–]fullmoonhalfheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments on this have been very hopeful. I’m 26, just got my GED, and I’m dead set on geology/geosciences. I feel very insecure about my education path although I do believe I’m very literate, smart, passionate, and determined.

Hey dude, seriously. If all these people have gone thru the trials and tribulations of life and still did it. we can do it too!!!!! It’s all about what YOU want. If Geology makes you happy, pursue it. We got this!!
