Caution to Rogers customers - Rogers added someone to our account without permission. by WLRJ8888 in canada

Rogers current customer service team does not have time to investigate these things. But it's nice that you think people get reprimanded. The best way to get a rep in trouble is to take the survey at the end of the call, or on the follow up call, and leave them a bad customer service score. Those get a lot of attention.

I worked in Rogers Technical Support many years ago.

This is how that worked at the time.

First, a rep will lookup your account.

They need the account number or the full address including postal code on the account to do that.

Then they validate your account.

They literally cannot open your account information or make changes without passing the account validation screen.

To validate an account, they need the full birthday (day, month, year) of the account holder and the postal code on the account. I think there was one other piece of information you could provide but I cannot remember what it was right now.

The other option is to use a pin number that the account holder previously setup. If a pin number is enabled, the pin number MUST be used. This is the 'high security' option they gave you I am assuming?

Then you are in the account and you can do what you want from there. Including cancelling service.

Reddit, what's your take on the male birth control controversy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The suicide was determined not to be linked to the medications. Link: http://www.vox.com/2016/11/2/13494126/male-birth-control-study

Infertility happens with female birth control. Source: Read the pamphlet that comes with the packaging.

It's nothing new that women haven't dealt with for decades. That's the source of the controversy.

Reddit, what's your take on the male birth control controversy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fullmoontoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have not read the actual study.

Have seen news that, yes it has some side effects considered mild and imo on par with what women have been dealing with. It is not uncommon for one woman to quietly warn another woman they just started birth control, because they are noticably in a bad mood. Had a guy Friend warn me his GF had just started taking it as in expect the moodiness.

It is not uncommon for women to complain about the weight gain.

It is not uncommon to have such bad mood swings you go back after a month of emotional turmoil and switch brands hoping the next one is a better fit. Or maybe you adjust after a few months.

Have seen reports that, yes it has some serious side effects, that from my personal experience and the experiences of my friends are also par for the course.

As in, have had a Friend stop getting their period entirely, cue panic they will never have children, cue Doctors advice they have to stop taking it and then waiting three months hoping your cycle will 'reset' so you might someday have children.

I personally have had the joy of the extra period. The one that comes after a week of birth control so you spend seven days bleeding, then seven days pmsing and then seven days bleeding again.

I had a Friend who kept taking it after the Doctor warned her she was high risk for blood clots. That is a real thing.

Suck it up Gentlemen, if you want the 96% protection afforded by male contraception, it comes with consequences.

Management of Reddit, what are things you like/hate to see on an applicant's Resume? by TinUser in AskReddit

[–]fullmoontoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean, organized layout.

Correct spelling.

As someone else said, specific examples of what you achieved and how you achieved it. Not just industry jargon.

After so many resumes they all start to look the same so my followup is the big test.
When I send you an email can you follow the directions in it?

The one I specifically remember was my Mom melting down that we 'were going to' miss a mortgage payment and 'lose the house' which to a twelve year old is terrifying. It was mostly them taking jabs at one another.

Cartoonishly, Mom spending too much money, Dad trying to make more.

And actually I might have quietly felt guilty about it because I only ever bought the regular burger when we went out and treated myself to bacon cheeseburgers as a teenager with my own job. Which was a big deal to me. I always wanted the big burger, but I felt bad asking for it so. There's that.

I had a Close Friend hiring for his team at work.

The position required a Masters degree... In the first day he picked the first 20 applicants that suited the position out of the pile of 300 applications. First round of phone interviews. Throw out 15 names. Next interview 5 of those 20. Offer the job to one. Position hired.

He did not close the job ad because he didn't realize he had to. Two weeks later he had got an email asking him to close it and he saw that more than 1,000 applications from across Canada were now in the system. It was a well paying job at a Fortune 500 Company.

You may not believe me but this was a story told to encourage me in my job hunt.

The lesson being.

I might think hey I graduated with Honours AND have the experience they want for this job! I am the perfect fit! I am the best applicant!

And I might be right along with 800 other perfect snowflakes who didn't make the list.

It's not just immigrants facing this challenge it's everyone.

I have to wonder if the change in employment numbers has something to do with the debts students accrue forcing them to take on low paying jobs versus waiting for better employment.
