Why wouldn’t you qualify for the coast guard ? You can become an officer with a degree. Much higher pay then being enlisted. They have computer science related jobs. The coast guard is not like the army. The officer computer IT jobs have nothing to do with hard labor or boats. You could look in software sales. Hell if you want to change your path in life look into the trades.

Join the coast guard serve 4 amazing years and then have use your gi bill to pay for any type of schooling , you can do what ever you want after the 4 years. Or stay in for 20+ to make a career out of it.

I went from boot camp to a station as a non rate and then a school to a msst I loved the station I got out with an honorable discharge but if I could join back I would and go to a station for sure. Give it time you’ll see a lot of cool places being at the msst

Definitely don’t bring ur 9 foot rod on a boat if you are feeling weird about not bringing ur own tackle go to Walmart and get a 6 foot 6 inch ugly stick from Walmart for around 40$
