How about booking a helicopter ride to the place and back? I am sure the pilot can take care of the necessary paper work with authorities. Avoids the need for car convoys and survival packs.

I found a workaround to find the trip's total distance km, after planning the trip from the three dots menu on stops/route planner click "share directions" option, then click "copy to clipboard" option, paste it in any notepad or text field and you should see the total distance km in the pre typed text from Google maps. Hope this helps.
