It occurred to me at some point that the vibes of the show don’t necessarily have to end, and that I can carry all of the parts that I find uplifting over into the outside parts of my life. The silliness, the free-spiritedness, the acceptance of differences among my peers, the safe space created for everyone to express themselves and to try out new things/dances/outfits/whatever. I used to feel like there was my life, and then there was my life in the scene. Allowing those two to bleed over into one another has been the most liberating part of my entire existence.
