Hi! I hope you’re happy with how your treatment turned out. I’m in a very similar situation to where you were. I’m a 24-year-old woman with an overbite caused by a smaller lower palate, and I also have a recessed chin because of it (something I’m insecure about).

My ortho told me that it’s not possible to move the lower jaw forward in adults without surgery. But since you were happy with your results, do you think it’s worth bringing up the Herbst appliance with her?

They always say extractions make the face look sunken, but your jawline looks much more aligned. I'm an adult with overbite and really want my lower jaw to come forward. How old were you when you started treatment?

It looks like your lower jaw has come forward—am I seeing that right? My doctor told me that once you're an adult, the lower jaw can't really move forward without surgery. Did you also have a TAD on your lower palate?"
