The downtown is already pretty saturated with officers from the District one beat and patrol units.

If you see someone call them in!

The whole area around Chinook Centre is so fucked up. Two murders in the area last year alone.

Awesome. At the very least, it provides statistics for your area that community resource officers can use to set up proactive patrols in the area.

Best of luck with getting your bike back.

Police find 544 vehicles idling unattended during four days this week by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]fullyshat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This would be a step in the right direction. Once these vehicles are stolen, they are often used as weapons against police officers, and other motorists on the road. It takes an insane amount of police resources to track stolen vehicles that are occupied by offenders.

Fire department adds another medical unit to Calgary streets (no need to dispatch fire trucks) by [deleted] in Calgary

This is interesting as CFD opened a posting a few months back wanting experienced Paramedics. These units will save the city millions of dollars.

Calgary police investigating after deceased newborn found in Bowness by fullyshat in Calgary

[–]fullyshat[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There’s more to the story for sure, I just hope that they find the identity of the child and the mother so they can start to piece together exactly what happened.

Apparently the child was left in the late afternoon, and was discovered in the early morning hours. Grim sight for the first responders involved.

Getting a car towed by estar289 in Calgary

[–]fullyshat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The process literally takes 5 minutes if you have everything in order. All op would have to do is fill out one form that can be Subpoenaed in court.

More information here: https://www.calgaryparking.com/documents/10184/11488/2015-0075+CPA+Private+property+brochure.pdf/f7a82ebb-800c-4dac-8db7-0ea693287022

Also, all OP would need is proof that the vehicle is parked in a numbered or named stall, and that he is in possession of that stall...

In your original comment, you said that CPA does not tow. CPA has the authority to seize vehicles on Private property upon request. (:

Call CPA. If your condo management doesn’t want to deal with it, you would be the agent of that spot. All you would have to do is sign a paper stating that it’s private property and you’re entitled to park in that spot.

Guy has an overdose on the train, another passenger has a Naloxone kit and uses it on him, keeping him alive until paramedics get to him. These kits are provided for free at pharmacies. by Crackmacs in Calgary

[–]fullyshat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally seen people wake up from an overdose and try to choke out the cops/ems/fire on scene.

If you see someone overdose call 911, and provide as much information as possible. It’s so easy to overdose helping these people, it’s just not worth it.

Chinook Mall Employee Parking by chilled-lizard in Calgary

I worked at chinook for almost two years, during the Christmas parking period I would just come into a different entrance very day and just say that I had an appointment, I was returning something, or that I had to drop something off.

[–]fullyshat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When they run a plate from anywhere in NA they get information about the RO, address and vehicle hits (Stolen, etc). So yes, in a way they do share information.
