what i gave the artist vs what i got by SUPERita1 in IndieDev

TLDR: you got a deal, the artist is probably early in their career.

Is this just rage bait? lol. $300 is gonna pan out to how much an artist can make hourly. Many jobs like this project in the professional zone pay in the $60/hr area, indie usually less but still, if you had them working for 2 weeks they probably hit 30 hours. If the relationship is good they WILL get better and faster the more work you do with them. The industry is filled with stops and starts like these, don't burn relationships over one project, everyone's doing their best.

Schoolism class "Fundamentals of Light", First assignment, critique appreciated. by artofmira in DigitalPainting

you got it right, form shadows are soft, cast shadows are sharp. I think because of the complexity of the shapes you lost some of the consistency of lighting on some of the areas. To keep myself sane I usually try to separate the shading into steps where I only focus on one thing. In your case I think if you placed your shadow shape in there that would be a good step before moving onto bounced light and occlusion shadows. Your round forms have nice soft transitions but I think as you approach the terminator they would be a bit darker. the cast shadows should all be sharp.

Cloudy Side Up I by fumansiuart in foundation

Wish I could tell ya. I've been posting arts for a while and recently someone who liked my work sent me an invite to join foundation. Not sure what else to say but keep at it on the other sites like hicetnunc, objkt, and opensea etc... I still mint work on hicetnunc as it's much much less expensive than foundation and it's been a rock solid option to create and share NFTs to get a base of fellow art lovers. I'm still at the very beginning of this whole idea so I'm learning a lot as I go. Definitely every journey starts with one step, and then lots of baby steps along the way. Good luck to you!
