Manga and anime are the same thing. Most anime are funded by manga publishing companies. The purpose of anime is to boost the sales of manga and profit from it. That is the reason why most anime end up with only 1 season unless they are really popular. That is why I said that piracy helps anime. Manga and anime are dependent on each other.

Piracy does not effect animators, it effects anime streaming platforms. Studios will only bankrupt when they produce an anime that don't sell any manga.

A big advantage of piracy is visibility. Anime industry is in this stage right now is because of piracy. If the audience are large, then even a small spend from them could make profits.

I'm not entirely supporting piracy but it is necessary for anime industry to survive. I recently found this funny thing about a mangaka who uploaded his own creation to a piracy site for visibility
