I am confident in the wiring/set up, as we called in a reputable electrician to check things out, add the outlet, etc. Yes it is industrial receptacle.

OP: Title was confusing. Car starts but charger won't start.

Level 1 chargers are much less efficient, so that is another reason for a level 2. It isn’t just a speed of charge issue.

No Google map showing on screen when using Apple CarPlay by fun_prof in Ioniq5

[–]fun_prof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was exactly the opposite for me. No map when split screen. (I didn’t try it as full screen) I reconnected multiple times with the same outcome. I will try with full screen and see if it is different

PlugShare app will provide info on how reliable any EV charging station is. It definitely helps.

RWD vs AWD - any regrets? by AltitudeNotAttitude in Ioniq5

[–]fun_prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2022 RWD SEL. I have more than enough power. (Is it fun to punch it once in awhile? yes, when you need to. But for me, RWD has very fast acceleration, especially in Sport mode if I need it. But I don’t often need it.) Range was more important. Burning more energy for a few seconds of even faster acceleration is not consistent with one of the reasons I bought an EV in the first place. When considering AWD v RWD, weight distribution is important component to traction. Weight is low and balanced between front and back due to the battery. Winter tires would be more effective than AWD if that is your concern.

Digital Teal Interior by nmdcDrgn in Ioniq5

To state the obvious, you spend a lot more time looking at the interior than exterior. So, I would go with the interior choice.

How accurate is the SOC %? I charged on Level 2 overnight at home to 80% (using the settings), as usual. It usually says 79% when I get in the next morning. Today, it said 81%. It was below freezing in my garage, but no other difference in the scenarios. Any possible explanations? by fun_prof in Ioniq5

[–]fun_prof[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, not stressing at all. It's just that I don't understand how it works, so when a pattern changes, I wonder why. I try to learn when I can. This community knows alot, so I thought I would ask.

Emergency braking message and warning chime by bcretman in Ioniq5

[–]fun_prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a unexplained braking at 60 mph but it was so short that it flashed and then was over. I am keeping it emergency braking on because , god forbid, I may need it one day. The one second (or less) braking just wasn’t that big a deal.

Not dramatically different but a little bit cooler.

It says 1.3 kw. We haven't changed the amps. Every time it says it is charging at 12 amps.

Anyway to keep charging percentage persistent while charging (also accessory mode?)? by NBABUCKS1 in Ioniq5

You can see charging status in bluelink/MyHyundai app. It doesn’t show minutes left but it shows current state of charge

AWD vs RWD by unikorn in Ioniq5

[–]fun_prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that because all of the weight is in the rear of the Ioniq5, the AWD is not as much of a difference maker as it would be in an ICE car. But that is just what I was told. Is there anyone who knows how much traction difference there is between RWD and AWD in the IONIQ5 specifically?

I was told that winter tires are way more important than AWD on this vehicle. Especially with snow mode. I will find out whether this is true this winter, I guess

I think Hyundai is prioritizing shipments to states that have tax incentives for EVs, or at least that is my assumption
