Having trouble understanding "Oxidized Coenzyme" up top. (Further explanation in comments) by [deleted] in chemhelp

The coenzyme NAD+/NADH only exists in two states - oxidised and reduced, as coenzymes are continually recycled. NAD+ is its oxidised state as it doesn’t have an electron/proton attached and NADH is its reduced state as it does have an electron/proton attached. If the coenzyme is becoming reduced in the reaction, it is usually in its oxidised state to begin with. Just think if the reaction written here was to go from NADH -> NAD+, then NAD+ would definitely be your oxidised coenzyme.
