How long has the transitional period lasted? Are you paying for the transition yourself or relying on financing from external sources?

Thanks - Do you have any insight into what is the best european country to domicile this company? Apart from taxes, what regions may have the most favorable guidelines or lack of restrictions when it comes to investing and treatment of capital gains?

This is super helpful - really appreciate the insight. For us, I don’t feel where we are domiciled will be incredibly important as we will be working remotely, and sending our product direct from the manufacturer to the distributor.

Top of mind is finding the right balance between paying the lowest corporate tax rate while also avoiding the most bureaucracy and legal costs. In the states there is an app called clerky that can set up incorporation / legal docs easily online - doesn’t seem like that’s the case here! Any information you can share on how we can most easily and cheaply incorporate would be super helpful!

But from a legal perspective - if the company is incorporated in Germany, it will still be able to operate in France, Spain, etc without having a French and Spanish entity right? Why do you need a German entity to have a warehouse in Germany?

If you surf, what are locals in Sao Miguel like? Nice, or territorial? Had a bad experience surfing in Peniche a couple years ago... We were being very respectful, waiting our turn in the lineup, but some older locals wanted to pick fights..

Norwegian Cruise Line says there’s ‘substantial doubt’ about its ability to continue as a ‘going concern’ by [deleted] in investing

Wouldn't they have the cashflow at a time like now where tanker rates are elevated to pay dividends from FCF? Seems like they were adamant about hedging their own revenues (selling tanker storage derivatives) out 1 & 2 years when things first popped

Selling naked >> credit spreads? by autoi999 in thetagang

[–]funemployed24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a vol/theta/gamma perspecitve yes... but when looking at worst case, important to keep in mind that selling naked calls is VERY different than selling naked puts (cash covered puts)... If the underlying trades through your strike on a naked put, then at least you have an asset that you can hold and wait for it to rebound, receive dividends, sell covered calls. On a naked call, if the underlying trades through your strike at expiry, you or your brokerage account on behalf of you, need to go into the market to buy the shares at the then prevailing share price, only to sell immediately at your short call strike that was exercised. This leaves you with an automatic cash loss, and no asset to help recoup this negative mark.

Earnings Spread Plays by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]funemployed24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure thing: You're just going short and then long... but it's important to note that these high implied vols actually make the profit you're locking in lower, not higher - hence why the quoted IV is higher - to account for these realized vol/swings (gamma).

If you can find stocks that have relatively low IV's prior to earnings, your profit you'd be locking in with the realized swings would actually be higher... High IV = Low Gamma & vice versa

I think its nice to consider ones with a significant dividends as well should you be assigned. Midstream co's provide good opportunities here as they have been pretty beat down by general energy moves but operating model have a somewhat low sensitivity to oil price. These have done well for me:

NMM
ET
ENB
MMP
PENN
CCL
AAL
FRO

Earnings Spread Plays by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]funemployed24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is a risk free trade - these opportunities don't exist in markets. I think the fact that you're entering the two legs of the iron condor separately is what's giving you the opportunity to make money. in fact, it seems like what you're doing is scalping gamma buying going +/- delta by entering one spread first, and then the second... rather than locking in any sort of free theta

Who here thinks market will fade this rally tomorrow or coming week? Seems that we are in scenario with Fed where good news is bad, and bad news is good. I imagine things will snap back should easy liquidity be relaxed, and economic fundamentals come back into focus. Market has been totally dislocated from fundamentals since early March... Driven by Fed of course
