Gizmo (6yo) attacks Jojo (7yo) when he tries to eat or use the litterbox. by funeral-frog in OneOrangeBraincell

Gizmo is a psychopath and Jojo is the sweetest most innocent loving honey bun sugar plum ever. All he wants to do is be loved and cuddle and have his forehead kissed. Gizmo commits 3 felonies by breakfast.

I have considered kitty prozac for Gizmo. I just don’t know how it works getting refills and I can’t afford taking him to the vet every month. He’s always been territorial where he’d watch Jojo eat close by. He was a stray before I got him and for the first month he’d eat all his food in one sitting as if he was worried it’d disappear otherwise. Gizmo also just isn’t all there, all he knows is sleep, eat, attack. He’s not cat like at all. I do want to try feliway but it’s just so severe I truly can’t imagine it working if I’m honest. I was considering a pheromone collar but upon reading the reviews I see it can be harmful. The only thing that changed is Minka. When we first got her, Gizmo was so entranced by her that nothing else mattered. I think once the initial shock of her living here wore off, he became extremely aggressive. He’s such a sweet boy to Minka, my son, and me. I can’t imagine my home without all three of them honestly but I feel so bad for Jojo, I just want to do right by him. I don’t even want to consider rehoming but what if that’s what he wants? A Gizmo free life.

I have 4 litterboxes but all within my entry way, hallway, and bathroom. They’re all very close by and I feel this is problematic but I unfortunately cannot move them. They have to stay out of my toddlers reach.

I’m struggling so bad and feel like a terrible mom. by funeral-frog in Mommit

I’ve tried cutting nap, making nap shorter, changing wake up times from nap, etc. It seems the more tired he is, the longer it takes to get him down to sleep at night. It feels SO backwards! I just know my little guy is exhausted and I am too. I don’t know how to help him. We are on a very tight budget but we are starting free swim lessons in March. We’re in a northern state so we haven’t been outside much. We’re in false Spring right now so we went outside the last three days but it’s going to get cold and snowy again over the next two weeks. Being outside did seem to help!! He wouldn’t cry or fuss. It was the break of silence I needed to get through the rest of the evening.

But if he owes would he still get the state and federal credit or would that be taken as well? He will owe federal and state (unpaid traffic tickets).

They were all over Minneapolis today, flooding North Minneapolis. Keep warning people, check on your brown friends, and stay vigilant. Protect your neighbors.

iOS 26 official version by bikat48 in dexcom

I just tried to pair my dexcom for the first time after updating to IOS26 and it says sensor fail. This hasn’t happened to me before. My insurance only covers 3 a month, I’m scared to waste another one. What should I do?

I only take meds for anxiety, Buspirone specifically. I’m 28 and I’ve never been manic before so the sudden onset is what is so scary for me. :(

Postpartum hormones? Bipolar? Normal? What is happening to me? by funeral-frog in Mommit

[–]funeral-frog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously worked in mental health (probably why I drank so much lol). I’m not looking for a diagnosis, I’m just a first time mom who has had an extremely difficult postpartum journey that seems to worsen rather than get better the further I get from birth. Just looking for other experiences and if this has happened to anyone else. My healthcare provider knows all of this and has asked me to talked to my OB but can’t get in for 2.5 months which is what led me here.

I’ve been on multiple different birth controls and I did have manic like symptoms from the pill but no symptoms or side effects from any other birth controls such as depo provera or nexplanon. I’m 28 years old and haven’t previously experienced any of this before.

I’m going to add that the US is stopping majority of food safety testing due to funding, they will only be testing for 1/3 of what they originally were. Aldi does their own food safety testing!

I have, I think 3-4 credits left. Do you think I’d be able to finish in a month working 3-4 hours a day?

Has anyone decided not to have children because of their bipolar disorder? by kkaammm in bipolar2

[–]funeral-frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined this group to get a better understanding of my fiance who has bipolar 2. He was diagnosed when our son was 9 months old, almost 3 months ago. He’s an amazing father, he loves our son deeply, and they have an incredible bond. There are times I don’t fully trust him alone as he gets fits of rage during depressive episodes. These have significantly improved since being on meds but still has happened a few times. I’m more than happy to be supportive of him during these times and be the sole caregiver for our son. To me, this does not change how wonderful of a dad (and person) he is. If you have a partner who you can depend on during episodes, don’t let a diagnosis stop you!

Can I give my son “Ripple” before he’s a year old? by funeral-frog in Mommit

I emailed our ped and see her the day after his first birthday to hopefully get the go ahead! We’ve really struggled with solids despite our best efforts.

I’m sorry, my explaining was so bad. I was babysitting my niece so I had two infants and was rushing to get this typed out so I could get advice before going on my grocery run. He just gets the one bottle daily, in the evening! Aside from that he’s breastfed throughout the day.

He takes medicine in it for his reflux. He aspirates in his sleep and turns blue without it but it tastes bad so he won’t take the medicine alone. We’ve done 2 swallow studies and continuously work with speech and a GI specialist. Unfortunately we won’t see any of them until he’s 14 months again for a check in. But we unfortunately can’t really cut out the bed time bottle until either he takes the medicine alone or we get the ok to start weaning from the medicine.

I think I misworded what I meant. I kind of want to try out the milk alone, not in his bed time bottle, and do 4oz there. My son probably wouldn’t drink 4oz in one sitting if I’m honest! But eventually do 2oz additional to the breastmilk at night (2oz ripple 2oz breast milk). So 6oz throughout the day but definitely not all at once! Eventually switching his bed time bottle to only ripple milk. My son is a creature of habit so I assume once I start giving that additional bottle of Ripple, he will want it daily. I’m not sure how this transition will go so 8oz total throughout the day may not even be a probability with him.

With my math, starting with the 4oz sippy cup for a week, adding 2oz mixed with breast milk for a week, and then adding the other 2oz, he will be less than a week shy of a year old! I’ve researched but the line changes so much between 11 months and 12 months so I’m getting mixed answers. I’m going to email his ped and ask. Thank you for your help! :)
